Sometimes there are nice bounties for reporting employer, like can get % of license fees as reward for reporting. In that case, might be good idea.

Did you read the part where it says you must be in court to testify against your company? You think just anonymously blow whistle?

Then your face come out on TV, no company will hire you

Wait really, are you just saying that or you have proof the whistle blower need to go to court?

I've read that Business Software Alliance (BSA) or similar organization will first contact the whistleblower for more information then they proceed to do the investigation on their own by requesting Software Audit from said company.
QUOTE
Most BSA Audits begin with a report from a disgruntled employee or former employee. The Business Software Alliance maintains telephone hotlines and a web site to encourage disgruntled employees and vendors to make anonymous reports against companies of all sizes. The BSA dedicates a substantial portion of its revenue marketing on radio stations and the internet to these “rats,” promising them confidentiality and the ability to make an anonymous complaint.

Once a report is received, the Business Software Alliance makes a decision about whether to request a self-audit or to immediately file suit. In the overwhelming majority of cases, the Business Software Alliance pursues the self-audit approach. Acting either through an internal enforcement attorney or an outside law firm, the BSA will send a letter to the target company requesting a self-audit. The request for an audit is a critical stage in the process, and the time when an experienced attorney can help your business the most.

If there was an audit, the whistle blower no need to attend court.

PUTRAJAYA: Whistleblowers who provide reliable leads on companies using pirated software are eligible for a RM50,000 reward.

The Business Software Alliance (BSA) said the offer was valid for reports made starting yesterday until April 15.

Those who have information may contact the toll-free hotline 1800-887-800.

“This offer is for those who can provide us with leads on any business using pirated and unlicensed software. The size of the reward is subject to terms and conditions,” said BSA senior director of marketing (Asia Pacific) Roland Chan, who represented the worldwide non-profit trade group.

The announcement was made in a joint press conference with Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry director-general (enforcement) Mohd Roslan Mahayudin here yesterday.

A total of 61 enforcement raids were conducted on businesses last year, with the largest single seizure valued at RM607,800.

“The raids yielded 394 computers and peripherals, along with 1,416 copies of suspected pirated software, with a total estimated value of RM8.2mil,” Mohd Roslan said.
