Hey photography bros, I've been reading a lot of reviews and settle for these few choices.

Canon A640 vs Fujifilm F40fd? SGD$500 range
Canon 350D vs Nikon D40? SGD$1000 range

I'm going UK to study around august this year, so I wanna get a new camera can snap pics here n there. probably will have a eurotrip during summer holidays too. I usually take pics of buildings, scenery, people in parties, food, clubbing (they dont allow SLRs inside).

So.. I kinda wanna know which would be a better choice. I have never owned an SLR so, I havent been poisoned yet but image quality difference between canon A640 and 350D isnt that noticeable for me, so $500 extra is a bit hard to justify to my parents =.="..

I have a Canon A80 bought 3-4 years ago.. and the lens died on me. so I am a bit wary of canon.

Another issue is that.. I seem to enjoy the colour rendition of Sony cameras, even tho i know they have a lot of noise issues.. -.-.. (u try see, www.kennysia.com. the pics he take is using Sony T9)

if u really can't justify the DSLR price and those places u like to shoot not allowed it, then just get compact.
