i think they would on certain conditions, our regulators wont simply share all our personal info with them without proper agreement

More to China Government won't agree, not about Malaysia allows or not. They are very strict with this kind of regulation.

they allowed our southern neighbour to scan and pay unionpay qrcodes using their local ewallet (nets), theres a chance we might be able to do the same with wechat in the future

if one day we really can use WeChat MY wallet to spend in China, I think WeChat MY no need any promotion also can easily get maximum adoption by Malaysians. That will be their best card to play.

i just explored a bit and have not got the chance to really experience smart order because no merchants use it in my area yet. but i tried in China twice and the experience was nice. in China the F&B merchants even have number calling system incorporated in their own WeChat official account in which when waiting for your turn to be called to enter the restaurant, you can just lepak lepak around without worrying you will missed your number because the queue number is reflected real time in your wechat.

Kinda like what Haidilao is doing it here. You can use wechat to check your queue.

LOL I have not got the chance to experience haidilao.
anyway i believe haidilao is bringing the queue num culture from China to here haha instead of the other way round
