S939 with DDR have lower memory latency, and will be faster in some benchmarks and applications.
The only drawback is that S939 and DDR memory getting more expensive. |

if u want to go DDR2, by all means go for C2D
as a 939 user my self, i dont see the need to upgrade my current rig to AM2 p/s: quite aging issue actually Chow. |

Such an old news already la.
Those who can upgrade their computer will probably go for C2D. Those who is on a budget will probably get AM2. Those like you and me are stuck with 939........ |

QUOTE(ijan_hackers @ May 25 2007, 11:06 PM) no big deal actually. it depends on your budget and usage.anyway as to the sockets i was using S754 and skipped S939 and head for AM2. why didn't i jump to C2D & S775? too pricey. my policy is proc and board should not cost me more than RM 300. |

I agree with goldfries, I also perform the same upgrade as him jumping from s754 to AM2 because on a strict budget. Performance increase is larger than I expected, totally satisfied me since it only costs RM700 for CPU+mobo+RAM
As long as you know how to properly optimized your PC, it should be on par with more expensive system. My old Sempron 2500+ o/c 2.5GHz is faster than my friend X2 3800+ in gaming (same graphics card, same amount of RAM, the game is NFS: C) simply because I know how to properly tweak my system, and this isn't what I said, all my friend agree on this |
