I think the supply chain here has scalp until they're stuck. 3070 and 3080 costs more than their Ti counterparts shakehead.gif
*
That's because all 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti are LHRs.

Once all cards are LHR. It leaves them no choice. They may have to mod my card and void the warranty too.
*
But that is not the plan from NVIDIA. The AIBs have an option to produce LHR and non LHR versions (for the applicable models). They would likely to continue to do both to maximise their sales.

That I believe was someone's fat finger accidentally clicked POST without checking, causing Dell to take down any orders for a day or 2 and now updated with the correct price.

How about brands like Gainward and Palit, these brands seems to be the cheapest.
*
It's not about the brand. To squeeze that much ram on to the PCB, some has to be placed at the back of the PCB and only has backing plate as cooling. Only the 3090 has this issue with RAM on the back of the card.

I remember reading somewhere that 1440p dlss is quite pointless and may lose performance compared to native render. Only 4k with rtx on can truly benefit from it.
*
That depends on how it is implemented by the developer. Cyberpunk 2077 is a good example. Even on a 3080 you will get slideshows with Ultra RTX (without DLSS) but once you turn on DLSS, it works like black magic getting back the FPS. This works on all the resolutions.

it's not black magic. DLSS is processing lower resolution graphics.
*
Black Magic as in it works well without a drastic lost in quality and works like magic. Not just talking about the AI but like they always say.. magic is unexplained science.. lol.

Unfortunately OLED panel is going big now, so very slim chance we can get anything @ 30-40" size.
I think we really need someone like Xiaomi or other Chinese maker to mass produce OLED model to bring down the market price, currently it just too expensive.
*
If you are looking for OLED for HDR gaming and content, OLED is actually cheaper now with the LG C1 48. Only problem is that it is too big to use as daily monitor. I say cheaper coz the other 2 real HDR monitors are the Asus and Samsung's new Neo G9 but they are going for RM12k and RM10k respectively while the LG C1 48 can be purchased under RM6K.

This. 48" C1 TV or bust for OLED gaming, everything else is too expensive (including monitors using the same 48" OLED panel).

48" C1 was my original target too, but table spacing and burnin (using it for work too) was too much of an issue to overcome. Decided to settle with a 4K 27" on my end. Yolo'd and got the Eve Spectrum since LG's 27GP950 and 27GN950 are too difficult and/or overpriced to obtain.
*
To overcome that I am contemplating to put my LG27 in front of the LG C1 48. I have a large enough table 6ft x almost 3 ft and already running triple monitors. Was thinking of putting the LG 27 on a swing arm to swing in front of the 48 when I'm working and push it aside when I need to use the 48 for gaming. It might just work.

just remember oled sdr is terrible.
*
Why would it be? HDR is just a wider subset of SDR. The problem is how Windows handles HDR which would just be a matter of turning off WIndows HDR if you want to watch proper SDR colours without it being washed out. It's not about the hardware.

I saw senq got promotion Rm4888 for LG C1 48". No brainer for those looking to upgrade to OLED.

However, keep in mind do some research on long term oversize screen. I have both C9/CX 65" and LG27gl850. I normally play AAA titles on oled tv. For work and shooter game like apex legend, im using the monitor.
*
I'm planning to do just this as I have the same LG27GL850. Senq I only see the offer at RM5999 and not RM4888. I guess it's gone. The lowest I have seen was Harvey Norman but that was RM5200 and now they have also raised the price.

Order placed.
*
That's good to know. I have 670 points to use. Who did you contact in SenQ? Please PM me the contact. Thank you.

evga is abit confusing here

i checked back with supplier (sun cycle)

they mentioned they never carry any 3060 lhr model, except 3060 ti
*
All 3060 starts as LHR but there are 2 versions of the 3060 LHR.

1) The first batch that works with the 470.05 driver bypass to gain full speed.
2) The later new batch that does not work with 470.05 driver bypass.

So the 3060 will not carry the designation of LHR because it is LHR by default, just like the new 3070Ti and 3080Ti.

how to check card lhr or non lhr?
*
If you are referring to 3090, then there are no LHR. The only series without LHR at the moment. So no need to check.

It's practically a price reset for Nvidia when they realised that 'Oh shit the customers are willing to pay that much for it...."

Personal opinion ; Looks like Nvidia/AMD is playing the price themself instead? they tried to blame these thing to scalper and bots, but in the end they did nothing to stop it for so many years already.

There is a lot of way to counter scalper and bots even though they are low on stock , although they did the LHR thingy to counter bitcoin mining but still, they should control the price selling from their partner seller , not like let them sell these shit at the highest scalper price.

anyway , i wanna buy a 3060 ti just to upgrade my 1060 , anyone wanna exchange ? haha
*
Nvidia only manufactures the Founders Edition which they control the price. After that, they only supply the chips to 3rd party manufacturers to make and price their own cards. It is not partner seller.. no such relationship between Nvidia and the manufacturers like EVGA, MSI, etc..

We are not talking about Adidas controlling the cost of the shoes sold by Adidas resellers as the resellers don't MAKE their own Adidas shoes.

Even before the shortage and mining, 3rd party manufacturers used to slap a big fancy cooler, overclock it a bit and sell it at 10 to 20% higher price. Nvidia has no right to control their sale price. They only sell the chip to them.

PC is dead cuzzzz all business start up using more tablet dy hahahaha even laptop also becoming semi-relevant soon laugh.gif rclxub.gif

That was the trend 10 years ago when people called out the death of notebooks when tablets started out selling notebooks but that trend has reversed in the last 5 years due to notebooks getting smaller and people realised that they can't get real work done on tablets. The stats shows a declining sale of tablets and increasing notebooks trend over the last 5 years.

So when is RTX 3000 series dropping price more?
*
Depends on the real life benchmark of the 4080 and actual pricing from AIBs. Might even run out of stock when people realise the 3080 has become the NEW midrange card with the best bang for the buck until next year when 4070 is launched in another 6 months or so.

You comment tallies with what I read on Reddit. Feels like Nvidia is up to their usual tricks, trying push DLSS 3 "for Ada only" (and they have a reason for that)

Even if it works, it does not mean it is good enough. That would muddle the benchmark set by Nvidia and I'm not surprise they are restricting it otherwise some a-hole on the internet is going to claim that DLSS3 sux.

means to be safe, its better to get a new PSU then using that connector

It would be the same just that Zotac decided to list it out. The pins are so small that a relative small number of mating cycles actually wears it out or damages it.

why is gainward and pny more expensive than zotac?

Looks like I was right about the pricing stabilising upwards instead of going down once the 4000 series performance to price ratio are priced in. 3080s are the new best buy midrange series now. Price unlikely to come down until something really special happens to the 4070 next year.
