Pretty obvious that they gonna call it the 2080. The date is a dead give away on how they emphasized on the numbers. Also, they will ditch GTX for the RTX which Jen-Hsun confirmed on the above post hence, GTX won't be "arriving" for a long time.

Anytime soon, ya'll gonna see tons of WTS cards at the For Sale section lol

Hope the prices are gonna be reasonable! for the RTX 2080, I just hope the prices won't exceed 4 grand else, i'm just gonna go for a 2nd hand 1080ti or an RTX 2070(ti) biggrin.gif

Learned my lesson during the RX 480/Polaris hype train. Gonna wait for actual benchmarks before I make a purchase. biggrin.gif Ray-tracing sounds like a gimmick which you will eventually turn off like Gameworks.

Take everything with a grain of salt until the NDA is lifted smile.gif There were leaks too with the AMD's Polaris on par with a 1080 and I was so hyped I took a one way ticket going to the Red team. I failed miserably

Not that significant of an improvement in my opinion. sad.gif The 2080ti cost an arm and a leg. Their price difference is like around rm2k? dangggg! But again, too early to speculate and taking everything with a grain of salt until the NDA is lifted.

couldn't tahan pulled the trigger for RTX 2080 ti Gigabyte Windforce OC

user posted image

I still have my Zotac 1080ti lol  . Updated the latest BIOS and now I can increase to higher power limit and manage to oc till core clock boosted till
2065 Mhz . Can I go higher than this ? But my temp kinda scary hovering around 87c

Jelly  those who won silicone lottery manage to boost till 2100++ core

On side note which non reference card manufacture offer the best bundle ? I can only get gpu stand LOL

That's a lot of heat man! Anyway, try to undervolt your card and use custom fan curve using afterburner. Reddit is a good source of info. Are you gonna sell your 1080ti? rclxms.gif

Man oh man, you guys paid top dollar for the Nvidia tech and it didn't deliver up to par. Cmon now, Nvidia! FPS is everything for competitive shooter like BFV. I feel you guys.

RTX is probably like hairworks on steroids haha! Losing 50fps or more with the most powerful Nvidia card available at 1080p is just absurd

da major diff that i had when i went from
4790k to 7820x was no more i/o bottleneck on the dmi.
dmi 2.0 for me was being saturated by my drives with me doing alot of data moving while the cpu/rams were tasked for other things.

seriously now with 800mbps.. and few other things i am noticing already dmi 3.0 saturation on small read/writes.

hoping for dmi 4.0 with native usb 3.1 multiple nvme raids..

oh yeah optane is a raid ya. pretty cool stuff. running it with a wd red drive.

Was using an i5 4670 then upgraded to a 4790k OCd to 4.5 about more than a year ago. The CPU bottleneck was the main improvement. From 100% on all cores, it went down to 50-60% on cores and threads. Clock speeds are obviously faster which helps images render/load faster. I'd prolly keep it for another 2 years until games require more than 4 cores to run. Running it alongside a GTX 1080@3440x1440 rclxms.gif

Hope price drop for previous and existing Gsync monitors. newer monitors will be called Gsync Ultimate to justify the higher price point. It comes with HDR, 1000 nits and all that other good stuff.

and lets hope gsync 'compatible' monitor price not gonna increase.  laugh.gif

Most youtube reviewer's prediction on the matter is that when Nvidia starts to certify monitors a "Gsync Certified" or validated ones, it would for sure increase albeit not as pricey as with the Gsync chip but you know, everything that Nvidia touches turn to gold haha!

Most manufacturers would rename their Freesync compatible to Adaptive Sync cause they probably want to keep it open now that Nvidia has jumped in the open source game.

That pricing is a shady. I learned my lesson on how excited I was when I jumped the Polaris hype train haha! I always take everything with a grain of salt. Until the reviews are out, it's all just marketing.

The new 418.81 driver causes a lot of blanking. It got rid of the slight flickering on the top corner but the blanking is so bad, I had to revert to the previous driver. No bueno for me. Using a GTX 1080.

Apparently it's the same for 'Metro Exodus'

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Perform...o_Exodus/5.html

The DLSS implementation for BFV/Metro isn't quite there yet.

To put it bluntly, perhaps 'Deep Learning' need more time?  laugh.gif  I dunno, but now it's just a blurry mess.
*
gaddamn that's bad! I think the whole purpose of having DLSS is to have it work at the same time with Ray Tracing but the fps drop is still underwhelming.

DLSS is console quality man. For that much of a card, that's unacceptable. It's not even decent. The quality loss is so apparent that you just wanted that whole shenanigan off.

I guess DLSS is meant to be used simultaneously with RTX to make it look pretty and popping? Anyone who can test it with either Metro Exodus or BF5?
