Just hope price will get lower and reach before sst implement at Sept.
Saw the news on https://www.techradar.com/news/graphics-car...ocurrency-slump price drop to 20%.

Now still think whether to get a cheap gtx 1060 or even 1050 as temp or wait until gtx 1160.

Do you think there will be Turing gtx 1150 ? performance = gtx 1060 3gb ?

SST not affect to computer part right?

nowadays 1 graphic card = 1 smartphone phone price.
Really worth that price?
GPU price go up so much compare to CPU.
Last time the most expensive part is CPU, now these 10 years, GPU become the most expensive part.

CPU handle more things while GPU only focus on calculation for display. Can't believe they can push up so much for the price.

I though the cost of manufacturing and research for CPU and GPU technology should not very far so the price will also not far.

Last time when new GPU out, it will price at last generation price while earlier generation will drop certain% of price but now when new generation come out, it markup even more price while earlier generation only drop abit. If this going on, after a few generation, I think it may jack up to RM10000 for 1 new GPU.

Last time I use gigabyte gtx 460 1G.
After nearly 3 years (2 and 10 months), it dies, lucky I still can RMA then after that nearly 3 years, it die again.

Last time I start use leadtek px6600, that one I think also last for 3 year then die. Then I get PX8600, this one 1 to 2 year dies.

The strange things is I never overclock it nor playing a lot of stress game like FPS or action RPG which use all the max settings that it capable.
I mostly play turn base game so I also dunno why my luck so bad for graphic card.

I heard ppl say for mid range card, gigabyte better than Asus? How about MSI/Galax?

Hi, plan to upgrade my 5 year old 290. Was wondering if anyone have experience with coil-whine from 10 series or 20 series card ? I have very sensitive ears and been to friends place with 1080ti's where they can't hear it while I can  rclxub.gif

Have a budget of around 3k , any recommendation ? Planning for a 1080TI but seems no stock everywhere...Using 1080p screen only buy my idea is to get a good card so no need to upgrade at lease 5 to 6 years on 1080p haha.
*
In theory buy 1 advance card so that no need to upgrade at least 5 to 6 years sound like ok but in practical most of the time, no only technology thing but also the lifetime of the card/components inside sometime will die in 3 years not easy to tahan until 5 year to 6 years except you only use it once a week.

Dunno I unlucky or what, almost all of my graphic card never able to go pass 3 years. I not heavy usage like those open 24/7 week and I also not always playing those FPS/RPG with max effect open nor overclock it and the temperature in room maintain in acceptable range.

So in future I will only get those mid-lvl card and expect it to last for 3 years only(sometime got chance to RMA, sometime die after 3 years and a few month so cannot RMA) I don't have confidence on nowadays card to last for long(even those are high end card, they not even use good quality of component into it)

RTX 2060 = $349

Available on 15/1
*
wah increase price again.
GTX 1060 $250 when release and this one suppose replace it but with price $349?
Nvidia so confident with their sales.
No wonder share price can drop like hell.

They really want to sell to mid-range market or not? or just focus top range enough?

GTX1160 don't know will price at what level. With this trend maybe $300.

They push RTX2060 first to earn those people that cannot wait.
After that GTX1160 will come out. For mid range really no point to get RTX, better get GTX1160 with cheaper price and good performance. RTX2060 not worth the price for this performance and technology for mid range.

RTX 2060 mostly will reach RM2000 when come to Malaysia.
GTX1160 should be the best for middle range. If not, we have to look for 1150ti for that.
RTX things have to go until series 4000 to see how much games going to make use of it.
I don't know develop game with this kind of thing will use more resource or not. If yes then really not worth to waste resource for it. Developer better use more resource to make game fun and interesting to play rather than waste all resource for look effect only.

Nvidia CEO Sneers at AMD Radeon VII, Calls It ‘Lousy’.
Nvidia so lansi.
Keep increasing the price on graphic card from year to year. 1 graphic card price take up almost 50/60% of total computer cost.

"And if we turn on DLSS we’ll crush it. And if we turn on ray tracing we’ll crush it.”
He like "crush" so much. How about make it "crash"?
How about RTX2080ti crashing?
How about Nvidia stock price crashing?

why bother what Nvidia do?

Nvidia increasee price u can choose no buy
Nvidia increase price you can choose remain ur budget. For ex. If last time u pay RM1K for GPU, you can pay again 1K for newer GPU, if the new one not much performance increase, continue use your current one. Nvidia will get no money out from your pocket.

good lah, let him keep increase price. Now stock price even fall like hell.

Next year got Intel come in. That time got 3, see can keep increase price or not.
The vga market is that small only. 2 already not enough to eat later got 3. Lucky got AI and other thing that need it, if not, not many people keep feeding them with that price.

People want is GTX1100 series rather than fancy things RTX with jack up price.

dei tambi

all in cahoots. thet price match and not bring down da pricing.

if intel has a competitive gpu it will price match slot with whatever nvidia equivalent.

semua mahu duit.

gtx1100 .. wont be cheap also.
*
see whether those that like to chase can keep support them forever or let them fall down like IPhone. (IPhone like to jack up the price from each new model now sales drop like hell) They though apple supporter can keep support forever no matter what price they put in without much useful and new things add in.

No one will keep support something that keep increase the price without much value introduce into it.

When ryzen came in, AMD also not price to match slot with whatever intel equivalent. It provide more with cheaper price so see Intel want to get GPU market or not.
Epic store want to compete with valve and now they offer more for developer to go exclusive with them.

RTX 2060 price at $349
GTX 1160 mostly will price at $300 so that ppl will going for RTX 2060 rather than GTX 1160. (Pricing Tactic). Then GTX1150ti will become new mid range.
If they price at $200, it will kill AMD mid range.
If they price at $250, most people will still accept this price for mid range but hard to capture AMD supporter.
