thanks for the highlight..

meaning can use HTIB?
hdmi from gpu plug in to htib receiver.. and streaming 5.1 sound...  yes?  smile.gif

I'm doing this.
GTX 1060 HDMI to HDMI in of my LG HTIB, and HDMI out to the TV (LGLA7400)

5.1 with no issues.

I may be wrong, but looks like you need to connect HDMI from GPU to the tv, and from tv, optical out connect to the optical in of the HTIB (via SPDIF cables). Set audio out at TV via optical, if needed.
Hopefully your TV supports bitstreaming of DTS 5.1 from the optical out.

or... if using optical from MOBO direct to optical port on HTIB... workable? still produce 5.1 sound?  hmm.gif

Yup, that should work too.
Make sure to set Audio output via the optical port on the PC.

Prices are uncertain too now, with that article on wcfftech talking about trump tariffs and how they affect the AIB partners. Almost all AIBs said prices will increase. sad.gif

Why would it effect us? Thought it's US issue only. I guess a lot just want to make more money then if they charge more outside of the USA

Well lets see how the non nvidia ray tracing tech/performance goes. Gtx users might get a boost if it proves to be too good/devs switch and optimize code.

What? No... My monitor still function the same after the update. Heck, it opens up my upgrade path to AMD GPU while keeping my monitors!

Works on new gen gsync monitors bro, current ones wont support the new VRR features

adding on to the legacy CPU questions (4th Gen i7 4790K here ) and rtx 3070/3080, i suppose if you're aiming high refresh rate gaming it would matter, but if you're aiming RTX + 1440p60/4k60 (with DLSS) it wouldn't matter ? since RTX + 4k + DLSS are GPU bound functions ?

The latest hotfix downloads really fast from Nvidia:
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5264

The older .76 was really slow for me as well.

Ouch. Yeah, the rest of the brands around RM5k for 3080 12GB. It was a steal at RM4299.
*
Gainward RTX 3080 12GB is RM4438.

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/i2864156...3810095997.html

That EIT listing went down to RM4199 during Lazada birthday sale with RM200 off voucher, but from the reply of zzzz52 seems like they are not honoring it (sorry boss, price error - lel).

Palit Gaming Pro models:

3070ti - 2.8k @ ~ 620USD (MSRP $599)
3080 10GB - 3.2K @ ~720USD (MSRP $699)
3080 12GB - 3.8K @ ~$855USD (MSRP $799)

Cheaper but still higher than Nvidia's latest cut down MSRP.

More discounts on the way hopefully.

QUOTE
Nvidia will write off approximately $1.32 billion of charges, primarily for inventory and related reserves, based on revised expectations of future demand, the company said. In other words, it’s sitting on a lot of unused GPU inventory. The company said that it had been forced to pre-pay for existing production commitments, which made sense when demand for GPUs was sky-high during the worst parts of the pandemic.

What does this mean for you? Nvidia’s choice to write off inventory-related losses means that that the company is likely assuming that a significant portion of its existing inventory at its customers will either not be sold or sold at a significant discount. To help those partners out, Nvidia is working with its partners to either accept lower prices or drive up the value of those cards via bundling, such as with games or peripherals.

In fact, Nvidia is saying as much: “In addition to reducing sell-in, the company implemented pricing programs with channel partners to reflect challenging market conditions that are expected to persist into the third quarter,” the company said in a statement.
