QUOTE(diehard1979 @ Sep 28 2018, 03:37 PM) nowadays 1 graphic card = 1 smartphone phone price. Really worth that price? GPU price go up so much compare to CPU. Last time the most expensive part is CPU, now these 10 years, GPU become the most expensive part. CPU handle more things while GPU only focus on calculation for display. Can't believe they can push up so much for the price. Err.. last time also 1 graphic card = 1 smartphone phone price. 2007 era iPhone launch = USD 499 - 599 8800 GTX 768MB = USD 599 8800 Ultra = USD 829

QUOTE(wewdoto @ Sep 2 2020, 09:35 AM) Hey guys, looking to upgrade from a GTX 1050 Ti to the RTX 3080 and I've a few questions: 1) Once the card reaches local shores, how much of a markup can we expect from local sellers? 2) Would I be able to safely run an RTX 3080 if I've a 650 W PSU coupled with an i7 4790 processor? Will be building a new rig with a Ryzen 7 3700x so my current old one will have to tide me over for now TIA ! Recommended PSU is 750W for RTX 3080... if your current PSU is not good quality ones, better upgrade first..

QUOTE(NeverAsleep @ Oct 1 2020, 10:50 AM) same here, doesn't make any sense to buy 3090 as with the same money can get 2x 3080 for 200% cg rendering power compared to 20% extra on 3090. The main purpose of 3090 is the 24GB VRAM it has. If the rendering requires that much VRAM, having 2x 3080 is useless if it keeps crashing halfway.

QUOTE(craxors @ Aug 30 2021, 12:49 PM) damn. i never consider tnb bill for buying card. I think less than RM 100 per year in energy cost difference if change to 6600XT

Qualcomm just announced 8+ Gen 1. Just changing from Samsung node to TSMC node improves energy efficiency by 30%.. Seems Nvidia gpu also screwed up by Samsung node.

QUOTE(Benefon @ Aug 23 2022, 06:16 PM) Bought it on April 2022 from them..used only about 3 mths.. then when playing game it crashed. It showed some memory artifact. Not sure why it happens because the gpu temp were quite low about 65'C. Maybe the thermal pad didn't contact with the memory properly?

QUOTE(Benefon @ Aug 24 2022, 07:21 AM) Have you check mobo bios update Previously my Asus Tuf 3070 Ti on Asus b660-g come with old bios, cannot support the GPU performance. The GPU block at 660 and power 60 something, after bios updated, it’s work great. GPU temp around 65-80c is normal Vram 70-90c is normal Weird if motherboard can affect the GPU performance. I also keep my BIOS to be relatively updated. But I sent it back to Pcbyte and they also say the same issue. That's why they RMA it. But it takes so long. Luckily I still have my 980Ti as backup. Can't check the VRAM temp on 3060Ti. It's not using GDDR6X. But the core temp is OK. At least much lower than my 980Ti (83'C). I can only suspect the thermal pad of the memory is not contacting the memory modules.

They priced it like this so the RTX 30 series stock can still be sold. Then once next-gen come out then people will think it's value buy again (because they compared it to this generation).

QUOTE(Zaszo @ Apr 17 2025, 09:57 AM) I buy a new in box 4070 12gb at RM2699 on Feb 2025 where 5060 TI is priced at almost the same price. If you are willing, I think you can find 4070 at similar price. 5060Ti has 16GB version though and can get the cheaper version like rm2.3k. So that's a thing to consider too. I had to retire my 3070Ti early because newer games need higher VRAM. That GPU was perfectly capable of high settings but was stuttering a lot due to VRAM.
