ok a ques

buying a good timing ram say...16-16-16-36 b die 3600 CL16 vs a cheaper loose timing 3600 CL18, any diff self OC vs use b die to OC?
and whats the diff in fps of both kits. I know not enough to justify price difference

Im not sure how the zen3 works....

but for zen2 faster and tighter ram affects the overall speed of the system quite significantly but it's diminishing returns starting from 3200mhz cl16... more so after crossing the fabric multiplier "sweet spot" of 1:1 at 3733Mhz

The spec matters in synthetic benchmarks as you will see quite some points gains. However anything after 3200 you will only see average 1-3fps gains in games.

It's a really long story to delve into hynix vs samsung vs micron as they each have unique characteristics. However if the zen3 can run them stable at those speeds then the difference is insignificant. Unfortunately I heard there are instability issues in zen3 that certain rams cant even reach 3200mhz... so yeah. If you're building a new zen3 system, better do some research on compatibility first.

No Pulse model? Those would be cheaper than Nitro, maybe later.

I remember them releasing the 5700XT Pulse models first before the Nitro last year.

6800XT games probably need alot of optimizations because the developer received the cards really late. That's why cyberpunk don't support amd ray tracing at launch. Even linux developers are complaining they got the card super late and currently 6800/XT doesn't work in linux at all, even though of frantic effort by the redhat, amd's own engineers, etc. Nvidia's linux driver worked on day 1 for the ampere cards

haha the hardware itself is very fast, but can't work. It's like buying a car but realised the steering, throttle and brakes is missing

Okay... I got my Colorful 3080 Ultra OC today. Comparing between this and the Zotac Trinity OC.

1. It's a thick boi. 3 full slots and getting near to the 4th. It's wider as well. However, it's shorter by around 7mm at 310mm. Now I can fit 2x 140mm fans in front of my case. (Meshify C)
2. It's heavier but I didn't notice much GPU sag comparing to Trinity.
3. The fan noise is quieter than the Trinity. It's definitely audible (my case is right beside my monitor). Maybe the sound is lower pitch? So, it's much more tolerable.

Still playing around with the power and undervolting. So far at 900mV 1920MHz stable.

more like it's a track car.... it will work best in scenarios or tracks that it was specifically tuned for.

1920MHz at 900mV is quite low... should be able to do more, try 1950 or 1965... else the silicon you got there is not very gooding.

My zotac trinity OC deshroud mod just went busted... there is not a single NF A9X14 chromax that I could find anywhere lol... contacted the distributer and probably stock will only come next year but no promises... And i need 3 ohmy.gif (If anyone knows where i can get 3X please pm)

at the moment for a last ditch effort.. I've ordered 3 ID cooling 92MM from taobao... Hope they're good enough to be use as proof of concept... till the noctua is available.
