I'm most interested in Ray Tracing performance. There could be further DLSS update too. Price - - some say Nvidia will not price it higher than 20-series, kinda doubtful.

Take it with a grain of salt.

Ampere to have twice Ray Tracing performance than Turing and further DLSS improvements. 3090 = 2x 1080 Ti ? biggrin.gif I remember that Turing slideshow 2080 = 2x 1080.

All i know da price is nvr cheaper.

Nvr other dat one time which they did that to kill Amd 3870-4890..

$1399 for RTX 3090 apparently

https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-309...d-cost-1399-us/

I don't now why many seem optimistic Ampere will be priced same as Turing if not cheaper.

Given Nvidia's track record of pricing, the prices only go one way each new generation - - up.

3060 $400
3070 $600
3080 $800
3090 $1400

hmm.gif

3-slot reference design

So... 3080 = 2080 Ti = $800

But Nvidia is smart as always, they know 'true enthusiasts' don't mind paying top dollars for the fastest card and thus has priced 3090 for a mind-blowing $1400 (40% higher price tag than a 3080).

These are still rumors though but we're getting there. September 1 all will be revealed.

24Gb VRAM for 3090 & only 10Gb VRAM for 3080 blush.gif

DLSS apparently is DLSS 2.1. HDMI 2.1 supported. 2nd Gen Ray Tracing Cores & 3rd Gen Tensor Cores to propel Ray Tracing performance considerably over Turing.

USD->MYR exchange rates are quite strong now, so I think a RM3K pricing (or even sub-RM3K) is quite feasible icon_idea.gif

2080 Ti owners should feel tongue.gif

Nvidia came out strong with Ampere.

They still kept enthusiast level 3090 because they know there are those who would pay that much tongue.gif

If really 3080 for around RM3k+, I'm in.

I'm on a 1080 Ti and skipped 20-series but 30-series might just do it for me.

Glad I skipped 20-series. 30-series pricing is much more sensible.

Now waiting for the real benchmarks... 'relative performance' from official presentations usually don't paint the overall performance picture and nVidia can always tilt the figures to their favor tongue.gif

True but already better than Turing launch (price and performance). We now have "2nd gen RTX" that kinda fixes Turing.

Not bad if not just a mere converted rate.

So AIB could be <RM4000 for 3080 (for sure more for beefier ones).

When compared to 2080 Ti price and 3080 being up to 2x 3080, that's fairly sensible I guess. tongue.gif

LOL at RM7.2k for 3090 biggrin.gif

3080 Ti very likely then (to bridge the gap between 3090 and 3080).

My view is that to hold off any purchase first of the 3xxx series. There's more coming into the pipeline; RDNA 2 and Intel. Especially AMD. There would be surprises.
AMD would even price it's flagship into the gap between 3080 and 3090 prices.
*
Yes, definitely. Now waiting for AMD's turn with Big Navi.

I have my doubts though as to how AMD is going to beat Nvidia on both performance + price.

I'm eager to see how AMD brings Ray Tracing.

Big Navi will disappoint. AMD has nothing in the bag to fight Nvidia on Ampere's front. They're still playing catch up to Turing. So unless they're willing to take a serious profit cut by pricing Big Navi at 3070's price point with performance above it, there's no chance for AMD to even compete.
*
Yeah it's unlikely but let's just see, I don't have high hopes for Big Navi. At best possibly a 2080 Ti contender - - which now has been eclipsed by the 3080. AMD users claim AMD's Ray Tracing would barely cause performance hit unlike RTX biggrin.gif I'm just curious how RTG is going to deal with the aftermath of Ampere announcement.

Need to know when to jump in. Right now 30-series already considered a 'good purchase' (3080/3070) when compared to Turing.

Waiting game is usually rewarding but you may be stuck doing it endlessly.

Looks like Vega and Radeon VII but curvier. tongue.gif

As for 30-series, I suggest waiting until reviews are out + prices to stabilize a bit (could be close to 2021) before buying (the typical don't be too quick to pull the trigger etc.).
