What are you talking? The US are banning & going to ban any permutations of 4090 that can do AI. You dont care but the US sure does. Chips used in EV cars have nothing to do with this.

Read carefully its not with US Govt approval but they redesigned it so it meets US Govt ban threshold, totally different thing. 4090D supposedly have a 4700TPP which goes under the US 4800TPP limit for AI chip. But as US Sec Com said, she will seek to ban that kind of deception too. So lets see how it will pan out. Just dont put your hopes up that this will return ori4090 stocks back to the market for others inc Msia.

I can tell you based on precedent history of ban action (see US Prohibition) that as long as China AI demands remain high & keep increasing, 4090 stocks in any variant, will be scarce and prices will remain high or higher.

Significant qtys ori 4090s will likely be smuggled, and whatever cut version could be further banned by USA until its too crippled to do AI, and whats left of a 4090DDDD will primarily be China exclusive so less hopes you might get a derated 4090 in liew of high demand.

Also depending on how nvidia can keep cutting down 4090 to meet USA satisfaction, it could overlap into 4080 territory and that could be next target for kena ban so even 4080 can suffer the same issue if China cannot get 4090 and turn to 4080 for AI chip.

It all depends how serious USA will carry out their threats to keep lowering the ban limit or if they decided 4800TPP will remain the threshold moving forward.

4080 Super expected to be a mere 3-5% faster than the 4080 but $200 less.

4070 Ti Super is allegedly on-par with a 4080 for $799 - - could potentially be the best-valued 40-series GPU (basically a ~$400 drop from a 4080).

Expect more WTS for 40-series and (possibly) price reduction across the non-Super series. 

I just hope China manages to develop their own stuff rather than relying on these companies, than we regular folks wont get screwed.

let's see if local retailers will slash the 4070 price, as 4070 super will cost the same as 4070 before.. rx 7800 xt price will sit in between these two cards.
