I was gonna finally get into 1440p gaming as well as some 3D rendering. My current illegear is a shit tier 3050 or smthng which is constantly failing <1 year into use and I was hoping the 4000 series would justify a new rig for myself. But HOLY SHIT, the prices are just..... i think the 4080 is more than 1 month's salary for most of us

40 series cards pricing wise is pretty bad. So far I'm leaning at getting a used 3080ti or 3090 instead

If only they didn't disguise the 4070 as the 4080 so they could hike the price up. 4090 look like the better deal between the 3.

Yea 3000 series owners gain nothing from Ada unless willing to drop RM 8K on the 4090 (which is beyond the reach of 90% of Malaysians, especially in the current economic climate). Anything below that isn't a worthy upgrade.

Imho, only 1000/2000 series owners can see some benefit, and to those people I would still recommend scoring a cheap 2nd hand Ampere card instead, or if NVIDIA's featureset is unimportant to you, getting a cheap 6800XT/6900XT/6950XT 16GB, you also get enough VRAM for future proofing as well.

Still on 2080ti i got for cheap after crypto collapsed. I won't upgrade until i can buy a card with at least 2x more performance (~RTX 4080) for RTX 3070 money (499 USD).

So I will be waiting for a long time at this rate.

A generation to generation upgrade dont make much sense unless ur have the money and want the latest.

8GB is only limited in certain situations for now, yes the day where its insufficient will come but not so soon, so you still got a couple of years to wait for 5070Ti which Im hoping Nvidia will learn their lesson from the poor showing of 40 series.

Then gonna just buy that RTX 4090 and be done with it.

I want to replace my 7 years old GTX1070 with newer GPU. Which one should I go for? RTX 3060 Ti or RTX 4060 Ti?

My rig specs :

CPU : i7 7700 (non K)
RAM : 16GB DDR4 2400 Mhz RAM
PSU : 650W (Gold certified)

And I prefer to play newer games on 1080p because I do not want to change my current monitor
