That 2080 should just cost RM250 more than the 1070... Right now cost RM2k more, that's the RTX tax where it is speculated not fast enough to run at 1080p.

I personally can wait till the 3rd gen of RTX GPU before getting one. For those who live to the fullest, life is shorter, by all means get one and enjoy~ remember to show off some screenshot here for me to drool.

I wish there was more competition on the GPU side. AMD has at least come up with a very realistic competitor to Intel on the CPU side, if only they can do their GPUs better.
*
Competition is good but everyone is only hoping AMD to come out with a competing high-end product so they can afford to buy the Nvidia part.

I think this is Nvidia strategy to get the 1080ti stocks to deplete fast.
*
You're right, plus there's no competition can price whatever they like.

when would it make any sense to say cheapest to buy GPU in taiwan??
*
You can check out the Taiwan price list here: http://www.coolpc.com.tw/evaluate.php
GPU price isn't that much cheaper compared to Malaysia, or actually more expensive.

Maybe they only manufacture the GPU chip, but the rest of the assembly is in China?

Asus didn't bother to put a lower price for that non-strix 2080Ti.

I'll wait till the (future) game I love to play is proved to be tremendously faster with DLSS, then I'll get a RTX, I don't see the point getting it now with these kind of absurd (rich people) pricing.

Just did the unthinkable and ordered 2080 ti. Feeling guilty supporting Nvidia's greed and a large hole in wallet.

Lol... imagine the price of a xx70 card > can already get a pre-owned GTX 1080 or add a bit more a new GTX 1080

Cheapest RTX 2070: RM2559
Cheapest RTX 2080: RM3599
Cheapest RTX 2080 Ti: RM5399

I am not against the RTX cards but really can't pull the trigger on tech that have yet to take off. You're basically paying premium for RTX/DLSS but with GTX 1080/1080 Ti performance for RTX 2070/2080 respectively. Of course the 2080 Ti is a class of its own with an exorbitant price tag to match.
*
Ditto to this. I’m going to wait till there’s a game which I love to play, which supports RTX before I buy any RTX card which can do 1440p 60fps with RTX ON (which pretty much mean Ultra preset). Looks like my RTX purchase is still years away.

Those people who plans to upgrade CPU and motherboard who plays high end. I suggest you wait next gen. PCIE 4.0 may be out.

RTX 2080 Ti SLI got slightly bottlenecked by X8 SLI.
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/..._Scaling/7.html

Or you can stay with HEDT Platform with 40+ lanes.

I’m hoping for PCIE 3.0 X8 over TB for better eGPU support.

Makes me wonder why they even put RTX on a 2080/2070. Maybe with future patches/optimizations (DLSS too?) this will improve performance, but at the moment, oh boy...

Imagine if they use that much die space for pure cuda cores...

What is the performance comparing GTX 1070ti vs RTX 2070.
I have read that RTX 2070 gives 15% better performance.

But is that the case ?

I am trying to upgrade my GPU from GTX 960 , to either 1 of those ..
I still cannot decide which to go yet
*
If the RTX2070 is also 15% more expensive, then it is worth it. It is however almost 50% more expensive so I vote for 1070Ti. You can also buy the latest for future proof, which may be worthwhile for RTX2080Ti, not so much of the RTX2070.

I saw that RTX 2070 is selling at RM2500 , while GTX 1070 is around RM2200 ..
Trying to get 1 to compare :

This is the website i saw and made me feel indecisive ..

Finally upgraded my CPU from i7-3770k to i9-9900k. From the graphics score, there's only around 3 fps differences. Does it mean that bottlenecks is quite minimal even with a 3770k?
*
The graphic benchmark only stress the GPU, so your new CPU will have minimal effects on it. So in this case - YES.
A well optimised game will use both CPU and GPU, so I don’t think your new CPU is such a bad purchase.

Looks like it is better to stick with current range of monitor for 144fps gaming. Wait for better video connectivity (USB3.1? TB3?) to be mainstream before buying a HDR1k+144hz monitor.

Good thing for Nvidia for supporting Freesync. I'm glad their share took such a hit they have to resort to going good deeds.
