Rule of thumb; if you need the card NOW buy NOW, if you just wanted to upgrade just because you have money just DON'T.

It's literally raining GPU in Garage Sales selling cheap prices even 1080Ti. If the new gen were indeed faster than old ones, you need to think about the price too. For some reason shop still thinks GPU mining is still a thing and prices were simply RIDICULOUS.

2nd to this. Used GPU can consider, not brand new ones...

hmm, is mining dead? saw bit coin price on lowyat home page still damn high.

And there's possibility that the miner selling out their GPU now is prepared to build the next gen mining machine.

Second hand or new card? hmm.gif

Which one you guys prefer considering the mining craze last time?

There is a risk for second hand being used for extensive mining when mining is still hot.

Mining is DEAD. Difficulty plus competition from ASIC miners makes it dead. Everywhere you can see the price stabilize back to MSRP except in Bolehland.

Idle temperature is slightly higher for those higher refresh rate monitor only. If dual 1080p, insignificant.

my monitor set to 165hz, when idling my gpu is on the lowest clock shown by afterburner

Ya, just get cards that are still within warranty period. Zotac have 5 years on their cards.

Basic with 1080p 60fps monitor.Just using dual monitor.I prefer idle will not exceed 60'c .
Current idle single monitor 1080p 53'c , once on dual monitor startup it , it shoot up to 73 Celsius even nothing was running.Idle and not even paying a video.Fan speed 1500 performance level 2 even setting to adaptive mode.

Which card is cooler ? maybe even 1050 ? will new coming gpu give better idle temp ?

Leak on gtx 1180 card https://www.lowyat.net/2018/167228/nvidia-g...as-been-leaked/
https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-118...-card-pcb-leak/
If expected to launch on 30 august , which mean we will get benchmark result on sept due to NDA ?
It looks like a downgrade , but still need to wait for benchmark.

Never though GTX 1160 was push to Nov release , I think at year end Dec will only reach malaysia.

The idle temperature will never hit above 45ยฐc. Your card is quite hot, but you should start to clean it & change a new thermal paste or even some thermal pad as well.

I'm looking at mid range card..
If want high end, might as well just wait for 11 series.
3k+ might get a faster/ more efficient gpu..
