You should know how the game is played for imported stuff in Msia; when USD goes up resellers up prices citing currency exchange, but when USD goes down they remain same price citing stocks bought when prices were higher, then when USD goes up again so too will the prices go up immediately due to Reason #1.

Which is why no matter PC parts or food or clothing or any others, you will never see prices go down unless they despo wanna clear stocks, by then whatever "discount" they give is not enticing enough to go with older stuff and rather just wait for the new ones.

I think its to force the market to move up, if budget buyers are going to give cold shoulder to 5000 like they did with 4000series, then Nvidia gaming is in trouble. By killing off 3060, Nvidia effectively pushed 4060 into its place and setting for 5060 to be the main.

SCAMazon makes it difficult to differentiate this and there are other tiers like Ship by Amazon which is not actually sold by Amazon but still makes it sounds like one. And the fact that SCAMazon condones all these, tacitly meant they are in it too.

If 5090 will be 2.5k then selling out just for 30-40% more will be foolish
If 5090 will be 100 more only ($1699) then its nobrainer to sell now and upgrade for minimal cost later.

Fun fact: Global 7800XT is below 4070 MSRP but in Msia GPUs are sold based on performance tier not marketshare (where AMD is abysmal just like its Steam survey) which is why Radeons are priced like AMD Msia is smoking weed. Funnily in our price conscious market where RM 100 is a lot, Radeons would be doing well if they followed global pricing structure (ie just below Nvidia at each tier).
