Do we usually get the cards in Malaysia immediately on Launch day?
*
Should be, let's just hope that the local pricing are good (exchange rates are quite good right now, so I'm hoping for a sub RM3K pricing for the RTX3080 tongue.gif )

Damn, I bought my 5700 XT a year ago and now my card just become obsolete sweat.gif

This might be the first time of me jumping ship to nVidia... the prices are just too hard to resist brows.gif

I wonder will AMD cut their 5700 XT prices, considering the RTX3070 is just $100 more, and is a much faster card to begin with sweat.gif

Looks like AMD has a very high bar to set with their RDNA 2 GPUs... hopefully we can see some serious competition in the GPU space in the future (something that has been absent for years) tongue.gif

I LOL at the part he said Pascal owners it is safe to upgrade now  biggrin.gif

I'm on a 1080 Ti and skipped 20-series but 30-series might just do it for me.
*
Guess TristanX is looking for a RTX3070/3080 in the future brows.gif

5700xts are relatively good all things considered since amd usually optimizes their drivers even for older cards.

but yeah, i would sell while it still retains value. too bad the ryzens dont have igpus

im curious how amd would respond. nvidia will possibly continue its ridiculous segmentation, and now with the return to the older pricing segment, this could make them obsolete
*
Yup, this will mean AMD has to price their cards very aggressively and hopefully their launch drivers are much better than their first gen Navis tongue.gif

now that nvidia has tooted their horns.
ahem red camp Lisa Su is probably gonna start leaking more to halt the green camp sales.

Exciting times indeed, and with Zen 3 CPUs and the launch of next-gen consoles it certainly is a good year for PC hardware enthusiasts brows.gif

That's why I didnt get RTX 2 . First gen is always poorly optimized and pricing is too much.

Waiting for Samsung 980 Pro. Expecting same as 970 Pro prices.

But TLC NAND... sweat.gif

I know it doesn't really matter for the average user, but when you consider that the targeted audience of the SSD, it feels like a downgrade over the 970 Pro sweat.gif

Glad I skipped 20-series. 30-series pricing is much more sensible.

Now waiting for the real benchmarks... 'relative performance' from official presentations usually don't paint the overall performance picture and nVidia can always tilt the figures to their favor tongue.gif

"Reasonable pricing" from nvidia could only mean 2 things:
1. Threat of high performance console gaming is very real
2. AMD Rdna2 can finally compete with nvidia? I hope so

Exciting times for gaming consumers
*
Also, interestingly there's no RTX3080 Ti (for now), so that means they are likely to reserve it for the flagship RDNA2 GPUs hmm.gif

RTX 3080 really more than double the performance of GTX 1080 Ti from their charts. Still gotta wait for benchmarks.
*
Well, we'll see about that on the 17th then tongue.gif

Hopefully the power consumption and temps are not ridiculous laugh.gif

3080 is really rated 320W TDP https://www.anandtech.com/show/16057/nvidia...x-3080-rtx-3090

I'll keep it out of SFFPC built on air.
*
Guess those SFF PC builders will need to upsize to ATX in the future sweat.gif

Big Navi will disappoint. AMD has nothing in the bag to fight Nvidia on Ampere's front. They're still playing catch up to Turing. So unless they're willing to take a serious profit cut by pricing Big Navi at 3070's price point with performance above it, there's no chance for AMD to even compete.
*
IMHO, the RDNA 2 GPUs are known to be quite a bit of a powerhouse (i.e. the one in the PS5/XSX are already on par with a 5700XT/2080 Super in terms of raw performance), but the problem for Big Navi is really not about the raw performance (they certain can match Ampere in terms of raw performance), but whether they can compete with Ampere from a feature set perspective - and that was the tricky part icon_idea.gif

RTX and DLSS have proven to be no longer a gimmick, due to nVidia's improvement to these features and now they are a very desirable and sometimes essential to next-gen gaming tongue.gif

The leaker who also accurately predicted Ampere also seems to hint that Big Navi would be quite powerful, but whether Big Navi will have a feature set similar and competitive to nVidia's RTX/DLSS however is an entirely different story altogether icon_idea.gif
