Overpriced and outdated by two generations...... sad.gif

Considered latest for that tier segment lah. Nvidia skip doing a xx50 GPU for 40series.

Its possible they might skip for 50series as well. If true the xx50 GPU has taken the place of xx30 cards being the most basic but long lived thru few gens.

Thoughts on the 5060 Ti?  hmm.gif

Despite the abysmal state of the GPU market, I think the 16GB 5060 Ti might be the best card out of the 50 series, assuming the MSRP 'sticks' laugh.gif
Reasonable performance uplift, competent RT and feature set, along with a substantially larger memory bandwidth should make this card somewhat more tolerable than the 4060Ti icon_idea.gif

Of course, distributors and retailers will try their best to capitalize on the FOMO by bundling it with lots of 'goodies'  rolleyes.gif

I buy a new in box 4070 12gb at RM2699 on Feb 2025 where 5060 TI is priced at almost the same price. If you are willing, I think you can find 4070 at similar price.

5060Ti has 16GB version though and can get the cheaper version like rm2.3k. So that's a thing to consider too.

I had to retire my 3070Ti early because newer games need higher VRAM. That GPU was perfectly capable of high settings but was stuttering a lot due to VRAM.

better topup and get 5070 vanilla version. 16gb vram or not 5060ti perf is abysmal compared to 5070.

I still think 12GB vram not sufficient already for now. Either get a 9070 or straight go to 5070Ti/9070XT.

the 16gb on 5060ti cant save it from its misery also. if no play 4k shud be ok. 5070ti price is like 1.2k+ more than 5070, i see vanilla card can get below 3k, 5070ti most of the card is like 4.1k 4.2k cheapest. can join radeon if don really mind RT perf.

Do not too obsessed with vram. 5070 > 5060 ti 16gb anytime.

Try to understand in a simple way, FPS u get from both 5060 ti 8gb and 16gb are identically in the same setting, just that 16gb can reduce shuttering if 8gb ram is burst / u can use higher texture setting.

Of course, u can get a rx 9070 which is more superior if ur budget allows u

Fully agreed. No matter what 5070 is still 1 tier performance level above 5060TI. By the time any game that would able to differentiate a 12GB VRAM with 16GB, even 5060TI 16GB would not have been able to outperform 5070 anyhow unless you got an edge like doing a hyperspecific benchmark (ie HUB) that will cripple the 5070 and bring out the 1% lows between these cards.

Disappointing perf from 5060TI but its not like we werent warned, looking at 4060TI results

Basically 4060TI 8GB is about 10 FPS more than my 3060TI and new 5060TI 16GB is about 10 FPS more than 4060TI 16GB. Looking at these snail progress, I can safely predict 6060TI will be about 6800XT heck wont even beat 4070 which will be 2 gen old by then. LOL!

Geforce has been shitshow since 40series.

I think its best to wait 3 generations rather keep buying new GPU every year as per current situation for Nvdia or consider buying AMD ( with some setback ie not so good RT performance)

As 9070 XT owner, there is still issues. It doesn't like 32-bit sound. Not Microsoft APO compatible.

Also, Nvidia driver team is crap for this generation.

AMD is just as sucky for the money, as local prices its par for each Nvidia tier segment (non scalper prices) so locally its not worth to buy Radeons when Geforce are plenty of stocks.

But what Im trying to say is the generational leap is terrible, looking about 10-12% perf improvement each change when my 3060TI had a 24%(!) jump over 2060Super in just one generation only.

Don't trust Nvidia's temperature readings on Windows, they're currently broken

agreed. Generational leap in one generation are not worth it anymore.

According to Derbauer, apparently 50series no longer reports Hotspot temps in monitoring programs whether HWInfo or GPUZ, not sure whether it was totally removed or function hidden behind low level kernel access.

However if it worries you, some AIB GPUS have input pins for a thermocouple which you can place at the hottest spot.

The previous hotspot temp sensor in monitoring programs monitor the hotspot on the GPU chip itself, not the PCB components mentioned in that article. Can confirm its not visible anymore in HWinfo.

The latest driver released a few days ago has issues, my MH wilds crashing left and right after installed it. Quickly rolled back to 1 version before it and everything good again.
