Yeah, I'm interested at ray tracing, as more games adopt it, and probably more optimized now.

I hope they dont increase price over 3xxx series, hopes they listen to fans, where RTX are just too expensive.

this is what i am estimating as well. ampere performance will be more on the ray tracing. dx11 will be norm which is 3070/3080=2080ti etc
the problem i see is theres no cpu to drive it if its 3090>2080ti by 50% in dx11.

nvidia nvr went cheaper

the only time in their entire history we have awesome performance/temp etc was 8800gt which beat da crap out of 8800gts cloae to 8800ultra while being a single slot cooling card.

I don't now why many seem optimistic Ampere will be priced same as Turing if not cheaper.

Given Nvidia's track record of pricing, the prices only go one way each new generation - - up.

Leaks say that Nvidia will be bringing the full GA104 die as 3070 Ti/Super with 16 GB after AMD strikes. Also, possible is 3080 Ti/Super with more SM enabled but not the full GA102 die as in the 3090 and with 20 GB. For best efficiency, the 3070 Ti/Super looks appealing.

650w PSU okay for 3080? Hope I'm not taking a huge risk lol.

as opposed to popular believes the reason why not to load your PSU close to max is the temps.... deswai ppl go for 750w++ so that the PSU runs at 50% and wont be too hot.... that's why people say running at max will make your PSU go Boom because of the heat.

However if your PSU is 80plus gold and above, running at such high efficiency means only 10% will be wasted as heat at peak power..... so maybe it'll run at 40C thus it will be fine.

Also the second thing you need to look out for is how the 12V rails are distributed. Although nowadays most good PSU will be running on a single 12V rail. However if you cheap out and got one that has 12v1 400W+ 12v2 400W= 800W total PSU, you will also have problems despite it being advertised as 800W

GPU nowadays very smart liao.. if it detects youre running out of juice, it will downclock itself and you will just suddenly lose alot of frames... sometimes your game will just suddenly crash. and worst case scenario the PSU (Good PSU with a relay switch) will just cut the power and your PC just shuts down to protect your components.

*Note that if it's cap ayam without the relay... then very likely something will burn.
