-.-

.....it is stable enough. That why manufacturers had released microcode update for Sandy/Ivy bridge and Haswell based server CPU.

Did anyone encounter one thread maxed issue for Skylake/Kaby/Coffee?

Duh.....Spectre can only be fixed with software (kernel patch) and microcode together.

Good luck on waiting Microsoft to release microcode update for old hardware (even if you use windows 10).

Point I am trying to convey, your system security is broken/incomplete without the microcode update.

Plus I am just trying to know if this issue is common after applying spectre microcode update. hmm.gif

The loophole was made public recently, now all hackers got a new loophole which people are reluctant to fix to exploit.

Not yet available at windows update catalog.

Beside, Microsoft already stated one must manually install Windows microcode update patch (this is not the BIOS microcode update) manually from WUC. Currently, only Skylake, kaby and coffee's microcode available for windows 10 from WUC.

I don't know who hackers are targeting. My point is that if for 6-7 years it's not an issue because the loophole has not been revealed, but now the loophole has been revealed, your PC is not as safe as 6-7 years ago.

previous generations of all intel and amd cpus gg already. intel said this year will release new architecture so if really concerned, best way is to buy new hardware later. for data center no choice but to take the lesser evil. me as home user not gonna do a single thing.

for online banking, still can count on two factor authentication no? know password alone is useless.
