Dear LYNers,
Need some favor.
My external HD suddenly misbehaving. Its a WD Elements 750gb.. On my Mac, when plug onto the usb, the hd simply doesn't appear. but when i open Disk Utility, it is listed there and when i click first aid, it tells there is some problem and suggesting me to click repair. But i'm worried what will happen if i click repair. Will i lose date in the repair process?
But if i plug it onto Windows, the hd still appear. still can view data, tried to copy and paste data, still working. but then i tried to make backup (copy all the data out) it stopped after some time and said there is some problem copying data.
Please anyone can suggest what should i do to recover data? Very much appreciated and thanks in advance

Bad sectors cannot be fixed nor repaired Backup your data to another disk and replace that disk immediately
Ignore those people who says bad sectors can be repaired. It cannot be repaired. Some disk utility can only help block the bad sectors from being used, none of them can repair it Bad sectors will spread slowly but surely

If you cant fix it, you could try and use EASEUS software to recover your files and/or fix partitions on your HD.
