 changing from 4G15 to 4G91, pls advise

finally, i have enough budjet to change my old 4G15 AUTO to 4G91 AUTO!!
things that will be changed
-engine
-gearbox
-wiring
-carburator --> EFi
but since 4G91 engine is kinda old, izzit nescessary for me to overhaul the engine? approx how much for full overhaul? what about top overhaul? any comment?
and since the halfcut also change my original disc brake, do i need to change my tyre?
anymore that i need to take care?

if u all are curious bout the pricing,
it is RM2.8k for engine, RM1k for installation and RM500 for trade in my old engine
total= RM3.3k

*pss, im changing this engine for the sake of wanted to overcome the underpower for my wira.. not for racing etc n mostly will be used in town.. so never suggest me to change manual coz i think it is not nescessary at all

like i said, this is for the sake of solving the under power problem.. i dont ask for high powered engine at all smile.gif
besides, u think easy for a college student to collect fund to change engine meh :s

no need to overhaul...just do the regular check up...new engine oil,ATF oil,new timing belt,new power steering belt,aircond belt,new spark plug,oil filter,fuel filter and air filter...no...u dont have to change ur tyre...

hmm, in the same time, i wanted to max out the engine power XD
so, is the usage of iridium spark plug help? shall i change to open pod air filter? or drop in?

spec wise, 4G91 has less torque compare to 4G15..
but of coz higher bhp and with a DOHC to ultilize it ..
not to says a 4 speed gear box also.

drop in the engine first... then if u still need power .. only mod..

what kind of mod?...if want to list here, so many mod...272 cam,bigger throttle body,high compression mivec piston,open pod,hot bits 4-2-1,piggy back,rechip ecu to rev higher...

after my personal experience with spark plugs on a B16A...i have stopped believing in this spark plugs bull... id rather take the RM30 per set of 4 NGKs. they dont last as long but they work just as well. so i would recommend that instead of iridium bla bla bla.

open pod will have more suction...but drop in will ensure u suck in cold air only (depending on where the intake hose is located)...

personally, i think its better u get a 4G93P auto if u wanna overcome underpower issues... changing from a 1.5 engine to an even older 1.5 engine seems a lil off to me.

but then considering ur budget, i guess the 4G91 is a good move. remember to buy some form of RSM to remove ur speed cut. cheapest that i know of the is the Pivot Speed Meter brows.gif

272 CAM - High Profile Cam...standard cam is like 232...
bigger TB - Mivec 60mm TB
piston - yes...but for na better go for high compression piston such as mivec or b16b piston...
open pod - going to
hot bits 4-2-1 - going to
piggy back - Apexi V-afc,Greddy E-Manage,Unichips,
rechip ecu - to remove speed cut and higher rev limit...

with that kind of mods.....I don't think he can afford all those at once ler....

Go slowly 1 by 1, cams not that necessary at the moment. Focus on ur air filter, intake and ur exhaust. Engine mods comes last

MIVEC 4G92 kind of pricey, can even fetch up to RM 6.5K for the 1/2 cut
