Based on experience, what is the best sound quality audio transmitter for mp3 that you've used before?

Im deciding either to buy a usb supported HU or actually save the money to buy a good mp3 player and then use with wireless transmitter with a normal cd player. But i am doubtful of the quality of the sound if i were to use a transmitter.
What transmitter that has the best sounding transmitting and how much is it?

Thanks in advance =D

Can't tell you which one is best-sounding, I've only tried one. Red-Fox brand, blue colour, bought at PC Fair 1 year ago for RM70 or so. Quality not so good, sounds dampened and muffled. Also got a soft humming sound in the background, like when you listen to cassette tapes (not noticeable unless you put loud volume). I didn't want to spend hundreds on new HU so that was my temporary solution. Maybe later I can post a pic.

I have the Kensington Ipod transmitter and I must say that it is a very good audio transmitter. I have never tried other brands before, but I bought it based on excellent reviews from friends and from the internet.

Check out www.ilounge.com for reviews.

The sound quality is excellent. When you tune your radio to an empty frequency, the sound is so clear you can't tell whether you're listening to an fm transmitter or tape adaptor. You can even feel the bass from your music. I must also add that the signal transmission is very strong as it can overpower the weaker radio stations. The downside is that you will hear the occasional sibilance, which is the 's' sound being overamplified. It's not a big issue though. Another downside is that it will constantly charge your ipod when you're using it. I'm not sure how that will affect your battery life. Also, I am not a hardcore audiophile. So it will be better if you look up reviews on the internet.

Also try the DLO Transpod, because I was also considering that one. It had very good reviews from Cnet.com.

Edit: Kensington also does sell a similar transmitter for universal mp3 players. Meaning it uses the headphone jack.

but since you are thinking of getting a HU.....why not considering getting a Pioneer HU and do your own AUX input......

look at the link below....this is what I did......so no FM transmitter liao.....sometimes when you are going outstation, the "empty" frequency might be used by the local transmitter and thus you have mixing and noise and disturbance......

link to the DIY AUX input for Pioneer HU:-

actually i plan either to use my dads old alpine cd player, together with a mp3 player and the wireless transmitter

or buy a new HU with USB support and not buy a mp3 player smile.gif
