At times I find Ozil to be underperforming, but under no circumstance I could bring myself to agree to Uli Hoeness saying Ozil has been "shit" for the past few years.

Ozil has won 5 times german player of the year since 2011.

He can be lazy and inconsistent at times, but to labelled him like that is too much.

He heard from his teammates talking about Unai's new training regime and decided to return to training sooner.

To be honest I don't give a two hoots on what he does for Germany or any of this political bullshit going on. Hoeness was probably just finding a convenient scapegoat for Germany's failures in the world cup and Ozil was the easy target with the ongoing Erdogan debacle. I, like many of you do not believe he was Germany's worst player and solely to be blamed. To be honest he was pretty decent against Korea and was perhaps one of the better players on the pitch for Germany that night.

But, what I agree with Hoeness is, in an Arsenal shirt, Ozil, for a player of his quality, has been very poor aka shit overall for the past couple of years.

The only time he truly showed he was world class and played up to his ability and showed some consistency was the first half of the 15/16 season. Of course when I mean consistency I don't mean he has to put in a 10/10 performance every single game. The players are humans and of course a bad game once in awhile is a given. But to put in one decent performance and then that many poor performances after that, some to the point of being one of the worst players on the pitch so often since then is unacceptable.

old school mentality or mentaliti org2 tua, is that midfielders must always go for tackles..Ozil is new type of midfielders who doesnt tackles that much, but more a playmaker or ball-passer..he created like 7 clear cut chances for Germany against SK, but its the forward who didnt full advantage..
