There is no way to circumvent that requirement as far as I know. For Internet access, you can only select Unifi-Home or Unifi-Biz (in the ISP profile section.)

There are routers that allow the VLAN to be modified for each of the LAN ports, and I am hoping someone knows how to do it in the Asus.
Not really a big deal since I have switches to add more LAN ports.
*
as I know, only enterprise router / switches can modify the VLAN settings…consumer router cannot do it…

Since you have switches then don't care about the VLAN port already. Too much headache unless you consult from ASUS themselves for your additional knowledge. My 2 cents.

Add + one more switch then solve your problem for the port.

@mztang52

Did you setup your Unifi (with HyppTV bundle) this way to use LAN4 for data instead of IPTV?

When I change IPTV setting to None or Manual instead of Unifi-Home, there will be no internet connection. I think the Unifi modem is configured to provide internet access only when it detects VLAN 600 at LAN4.

I enquired at TM and was told that Unifi without HyppTV will cost more than the HyppTV bundle.
*
You shouldn't set it as none as it will disable the VLAN. I don't use HyppTV, so I kept it in my store room and change the LAN 4 port to Internet port. Have you followed my settings above?

FOLLOW THE VALUE OF VID THAT I PUT ABOVE AND INSERT IT INTO YOUR ROUTER.

You cannot separate your plan without UniFi but you can throw it at aside and change the port for HyppTV for Internet.

That's not how you set it up. You only need a smart switch when the router doesn't support VLAN tagging function. Most of the routers these days you see in Malaysia Computer store supports VLAN tagging already so you don't need a smart switch in order for you to connect to UniFi. But the problem that TS has is that TS wants to setup his router to work without HyppTV. Basically HyppTV utilizes one port from the router but if you want to use it for Internet purpose, you have to edit the VLAN ID to the exactly same as the VLAN ID for Internet connection. BTW, thanks for your post. Blactubi's website has always been a good reference.

I tried both with None and Manual setting for VLAN, in both cases there will be no internet connection. Changing DNS to 202.188.18.188 also didn't help.

Can you allow me to help you to configure it?

Sorry, the IPTV doesn't work over WiFi. Asus doesn't support VLAn Tagging Via WiFi.

How? OTA?
Perhaps, you could list out the steps involved.
Thanks, appreciate it.
*
It is pretty simple. Just go to LAN, IPTV and alter the settings will do.

Can you show me a photo of your settings when you are on manual? Perhaps yours is a little different.

Okay, then leave VID value for LAN port 4 and 3 empty.

CODE
}
else if(document.form.switch_wantag.value == "unifi"){
 setting_value = [["500", "0"], ["", "0"], ["", "0"], "0"];

I set vid to blank as suggested, applied, and on reconnection, no internet connection.
I then rebooted the router, and internet was connected.

I then set the vid back to 500, rebooted, and there was internet connection.

So as it turned out, it was working all along, I was just too impatient and did not reboot the router.

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi there.. please help...

Just bought asus RT1200G+ few days ago.

Having the NO internet issue similar to the above case. I followed the steps mentioned above and still without success.

I reboot so many times that i think the router has gone mad ie when i entered router admin password.. it sort of copypaste this password onto my PPP password on WAN setup..

Very frustrating....

Hi all... necro this tread again as it also saved me some effort.

I am currently using the AX-86u on firmware 3.0.0.4.386_41535. As the previous comments mentioned to tag LAN4 as 500, unfortunately it did not work for me. But this new setting now does.

Attached Image

Previously if I tried to put LAN3 and LAN4 as 500 neither port will work for internet or intranet. This seems to have solved it.... There is the 2.5G port which I have not tested to see if it also enable it yet (in this firmware it seems the issue has been to make the port WAN only rather than the LAN/WAN it was supposed to be).
