Only place I know is Guitar Store but screw that overpriced con jobs.

Anyone know of a place that gives a good price? My price range is 1200 - 1500.

Also, what Guitar would you recommend? I like alternative rock and indie folk so unlikely to deviate from that. A nice thick sound. Something you'd possible find on a Sevendust or Fuel acoustic song. Suggest a brand to check out as well! I don't know much about gears.

Arigato son!

odd you mention TGS as overpriced con jobs, they are arguably the cheap acoustic bois in the market.

i think the other one is CK.

the rest like bents, swee lee tend to be quite pricey (they dont bring in china brands) not sure if JS has a good range

or you can go to yamaha warehouse sale and see if can nick a unit or two.

a lot of the sounds you hear on records has more to do with the mic than the guitar

I've had experience with guitar store is why.

I'll check out CK and Yamaha warehouse sounds like a great idea.

I'll look into it. Thanks.

imo, tgs with their corts, norman, art&lutherie etc still offer better value for money than most.

well i dont doubt it, but then they do carry the value for money brands and often have quite good deals on their acoustics

then again you have to go to their cheras branch, the rest tends to operate independently

You can check Amplitude Music in USJ.
The seller, Jon is very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable in choosing good guitar based on my budget.

You can check on Sigma, Eastman, Trumon, Veelah, Kepma and many more...

Also better to choose guitar and listen with your own ear...

few yrs ago, tgs carried the whole godin family.
a&l, norman, seagull, simon&patrick.
they also still had a few of the popular seagull S6 couple yrs ago.

hmm, still do.

interesting that tgs still have all of them, except A&L.

they always do, but they dont seem to push them like a distributor does

so im not even sure how they sell those guitars really, or why godin has like 4 brands competing against each other

Two occasion but one's really old. The recent one was my amp had blown out. I sent it in, asked if there was any fees (for checking the issue) they said no. When I came back they said there's a 30 bucks checking fee and on top of that the price the were charging to fix it was 250 when another place only charged 150. So I was like fuck that noise.

It's a nice place though, nice feel and they all friendly and whatnot. Oh and then there's that time when I asked for thick strings cause I like playing riffs and the guy put on strings that became unplayable, like it was too thick for me neck or like soemthing like that. I'm like bruhh..

Went to TGS yesterday. Guy was great very friendly. They only had two within my budget and had the plugin pickup thing. Both were TGS design Cort guitar. One at 930 and 1430 with Fishman pickup. Idk tbh is that kind of thing worth it? He was saying Fishman was the best, to get that.

Yes I do. The guitar will be used for gigging as well as I'm looking to get back into it. Also, a guitar like this is a long term investment so it's better to be safe than sorry.

Fender under 1.5k?

I'll probably check out a couple more places suggested in this thread. I'll look out for that.

ahhh those years of innocence where one would claim that she is the only one for the long term. laugh.gif

if you are looking to gig, get a pup one also good to keep in mind gig guitars are to be trashed around
