Bro joshuawong,
In the new v12 firmware, is the button problem still there? You know, the keypad when you press, but nothing pops up. I encounter it after upgrading to the 1st version of v12 firmware. Very annoying when typing sms. Is it fixed?

Guys, guess what.
The eeeeee sound from the ear piece (most of us noticed it), is actually caused by the screen...weird.....

I am using the new v12 firmware and didn't face any button problem so far. SMS typing so far so good  smile.gif
After the V12 firmware updates, i didn't really notice the eeeeee sound anymore. It is pretty obvious on the V11 firmware.
*
Really? Updating now. last night i noticed, even while charging and the phone is off, there's still that eeeeeeeee sound. I got the sound on both v11 and the old v12. currently upgrading to the v12. hopes everything went smooth

Bro,check your product code in Nokia website to see if there's any updates available. If none available, then you might need to do the "Product code change trick". Yours is APAC version? Or Euro?

QUOTE(BuFung @ Jul 23 2007, 05:52 PM)
what I heard are also the same like what u heard from people...

But after I purchase my and my experience on my unit..  there is no such problems like what they told...
The major problem come from the user.. I think an average user not able to manage a sophisicated phone like N95...

One of the major problem for this people is, they open application.. open open open.. and just use the Red close button to jump back to the front menu..  the application are still running @ the background.. keep open and never exist the application, how well u want the phone to manage keep open application like that? it just like a PC and u keep Open multiple application and don't close the application properly...

beside, the phone don't support 2GB??  User/Forumer here already running on 2GB without any problem...  I think a lot of comments people tell are those who feel like want to buy the phone but end up with something else and keep magnify-ing the problem of this phone...  just to let you know that N95 already been tested working well on a 4GB MicroSD card...

lagging??  a phone with a CPU running on 330Mhz still lagging for u, I think u might want to consider a phone with a C2D CPU on it..  but ur battery gonna last u for maybe 1 hours per charge...

good luck...  icon_rolleyes.gif

The red button doesn't work like that in N95. It does act as the exit button, unlike the previous nokia phone. Red button = exit application.

I also encounter the same thing when buying my N95. This amoi strongly recommend me 6110. Saying N95 got a lot of problem la..that la...this la...then i left her shop, go to the next one and bought mine. And never regret it. N95 is comparable to those PDA phone. so i agree that most people don't really know how to use this phone well. One thing im not reallt satisfied is the slider on mine. Been searching for the screw driver to do some modding to repair the slider rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

plague, Yea.. Red Button Can Exit Applications.. But Not All.. I Just Tested System Rush And Snakes, They Still Remain Running In The Background.. Or Is It Just My Phone?

Correct Me If I Am Wrong...
*
Yup...true. It's applicable but not for all. Most third party applications i have all exits after hitting the red button. Build in apps mostly dont. But Maps does exit, but not the music player.

I think the price will be in the range of slightly less than Rm200..  or +- there...  be patient..  I also waiting for that.. laugh.gif

but might wait until the price come down a bit first la...  > storage for photos/Mp3 only.. other things doesnt really need a lot of spaces... laugh.gif

oh yah.. forgot my dozen n dozen of games rom.. tongue.gif tongue.gif
*
I think the price would be more than RM200. Maybe almost RM300. Just my guess. If only someone would BULK it. Anyone? But the price will go down quite fast. I think.....Anyway, the Sandisk 2GB Ultra II is already available at PCZone. Around RM110. That would be fast.

Gah.

so all of you guys here have had experienced by using a 2GB memory card and it works just fine?
awesome..! rclxms.gif

what about the camera?
the girl said, you can not take a lot of pictures.
If you take a lot of it, the phone will become slow (again, I know =P)

is it true?

sorry I'm a noob about this N95
and I just want to ask people who already had experienced with it smile.gif

thanks to those who gave your opinions ya! =)
it helps.

Take a lot of picture, phone become slow? Hmm...never happen to me tho. Maybe it's just a myth. LOL.

What format can run at N95 for Movie or Video ?
*
N95 is definitely great for video clip. You can choose from MP4, 3GPP (both supported by the build in player), or even AVI (need smart movie player)

first, i am using philips hd950 headphone for music. The original headphone totally lack of bass. Personal opinion.

Second, the gps software are actually smart2go. Correct me if i am wrong.

I am actually watching divx on my phone using smart movie. Basically the phone can support almost every encoding depend on you have the software or not.
Bufung reply @ n95. Nite guy.
*
Yup, you are right. it is smart2go. But they change the name to Nokia Maps. Still same thing. And nice headphone you got there. thumbup.gif Does the battery goes down a lot faster? sweat.gif

P/S: If you can make the slider voice controlled, then PM me! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

anyone know wat does life blogs in the application do?
*
It's an application where it compiles all your images, mms, sms, videos, notes, and sounds in a date view. So later you can upload it to a blog page, or upload it to your pc without hassle. I just use it to transfer all those thing into my pc, so i can delete them from my phone. It's cool though. Later you can run your life blog from pc, and go date by date. something like brings back the memories. It's all sorted, so you can see sms in and out, pictures taken and everything. it's a nice thing to have tho. try it! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

I bought it on 23rd June. About a month. Now, after carefull examination, i dont think its really broken. MP3s are ok. Only the sound when you keypad lock, or when you received the delivery report is a bit weird. Not like it used to be. Sending to warranty will make me die waiting. I think i can still live with it tho. Lol

Don't worry. GPS is FREE. It's just that if you want to get a fast reading without waiting for 2-3 minutes, there's a function called Assisted GPS (AGPS). By using this, you will connect to your GPRS/3G to get the data & it will be less than 10 seconds rather than 2-3 minutes. But if you don't wish to waste money, you can off it anytime.

Go to menu > tools > settings > positioning > positioning methods

& ensure only integrated GPS is ticked.

then go to menu > maps > option > settings >network > use network

make sure it's 'never'
*
What's the difference between A-GPS and network based?

Thanks for replying! How long is the update by the way? The v12 system is fine? nothing wrong with it? Wasn't there some prob regarding the internet turining into chinese? or loss of info? sry for all these noobish questions...
*
Depends on your internet connection. The file size is about 100+MB. The chinese thing has been fixed in this new v12 FW. You would probably need to re-install you Java applications. For sis applications, no need to re-install. To be safe, back up your phone memory onto the memory card and use PC suite to backup contacts and calenders also. Just to be on the safe side. drool.gif drool.gif

Just as stated by joshuawong. Only through NSU. Download NSU here:

http://europe.nokia.com/softwareupdate

Choose N95 from the list. Download, install and you're good to go thumbup.gif
