Yes , not sure how much malaysian Technician is charging you but what we do is we have to remove ur old Memory chip than program the contents from urs to the new chip than solder it on.

try to speak to them https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beyond-Smart...318825914957987

Just wondering, while they try to remove the CPU chip for example, is there a chance of damaging the circuitry since extreme heat is used even they are experts?

I'm asking this because I've sent it to one shop and they said it's the CPU issue on the motherboard and it can't be repaired.

Over the weekend, i sent it to another shop for a second opinion and today i found out that it cannot be repaired as well. They told me that when the first shop tried to remove the CPU, they might broke something and possibly extreme heat was used.

Only option left is to change the whole motherboard, which is not worth at all.

In that case you might as well consider selling your phone off for parts and getting another refurbished or new unit.

Sorry, overlooked this. Do you know any shops around PJ/Subang?

Also, since i'm not really in a rush now, i was wondering, if the motherboard really can't be repaired, how about getting a second hand good condition motherboard (if it's reasonably priced)?

I think it’s difficult to get a second hand motherboard, might as well get a second hand phone instead.

Hi, I'm currently facing the same problem with my iPhone 7 after using it for about 1 year and 4 months. Apple centre says it'll cost 1800 if it's the motherboard. One repair shop in Kepong quote me 800++ to fix it. I called up a few other shops and most of them says it's very likely it's the motherboard because of the 'unknown error number 9'. So I would like to ask if is it possible that it is actually a software issue instead of a hardware one?

Apple will able to tell you if it is motherbord issue by doing a diagnosis test. Are those APR able to do so? They are obligated to do a diagnosis test before asking if you would like to repair.

Bear in mind though there is a token diagnostic fee charge at APRs. Anywhere between RM50-RM80.

Apparently you don't get charge if your warranty is still valid, but otherwise you get charged a nominal fee.

That's the difference between APRs and Apple Stores.

I think after diagnose, and you choose to have it fix, then the diagnostic fee is waived. But if you decide not to get it fixed after diagnose, they will charge you a fee when you collect back your unit.
