So now I have finished my SPM and I don't know what to do after that
I thinking of picking A-level but still many people telling me that you should think about what you wanna do as your job so you won't choose the wrong combinations.
But the thing is I CAN'T REALLY GIVE YOU AN EXACT ANSWER WHAT I WANNA DO
I do have some in mind, but I scared that I might regret after that and hence I'm picking A-level.
But the question still come back to me, what you wanna do next?

SO, is it REALLY that important to think what I wanna do as my job? Can't I just focus on finishing my A-Level and then looking my passion along the way? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

P/S: Can psychologist make money? Where do they usually work for in Malaysia? Is sociology common in Malaysia?

DO PLEASE TELL ME FRANKLY. I DON'T MIND REAL OPINIONS

It is important for you to know which field u passion in now. In my opinion, you should figure out what job u want to do in future and directly go to university. It just my opinion

Are you from science stream or arts stream? That is one question you have to answer because it does limits the subject you could take at A-level.

Feel free to use your A-level to explore more area of subjects. If you have intention of pursuing medicine or pharmacy then take Biology at A-levels. Otherwise, you would be fine with any subject combinations mostly because the pre-requisite for other degree courses are not as stringent as pharmacy and medicine (there might be more I am not aware of).

It is definitely okay to think about what you want to do while doing A-levels. Do share what area of interests you have in mind.

I have interest in design field from a young age. But as I grow older, I realize the fact that I just like their flexibility and how they allow your creativity runs. To be honest, I prefer handmaking eg. Sewing and DIYs thing instead of like really designing something. And I'm aware of the fact that I suck at drawing which is important for design field.

Hence I ended up thinking about Psychology. But, the thing is like I really lack patience. I'm a good listener but I get frustrated easily. So Idk.

At the same time, I got consider about Mass Communication. Quite a number of job test recommend this to me. Plus my outgoing personality is quite a thing for this field but I just feel like why taking all my time like studying about this field. I do not despise this field but I just feel like is not necessary to study a degree for this. Idk.

Others field like Engineering, Business, I'm not really interested.
Why I suddenly feel like I'm hopeless? Hahahha

It's normal , you are normal . Most children at your age do not know what they want to do in future .

You are in the science stream , so you have more flexibility .

You should at least narrow down a few profession that you like , look at the course requirements choose the subject to study at A-level or IB. Normally, art stream courses do not have subject prerequisite.

Hello there.

You can read the sewing,DIY,psychology, interior design, mass comm or even other course from internet.
Internet is very powerful now,you can get so many information in this field and study yourself.
Actually no need to give so many money and so many time for this course, you also can learn it so much, just from internet.
I will suggest you to choose a more valuable courses,it is based on the job opportunity after you graduate.

You are not giving up sewing,DIY,psychology, interior design, mass comm.
You just choose to learn it from internet, not to learn it from diploma/Bachelor Degree or what certificate here.

Its ok,just keep going.

Go to any university during open day. Ask about the course and what career available.

A level considered as pre u qualification, surely you have enough time to think about it. But then, you lack of inspiration or unable to see the whole picture. This is why I suggested above opinion.

Psychology graduates may work as counselor in university, I think there are few MNC hire as well, not sure about it. One thing for sure is, people are unlikely approach counselor to get counseling although they are facing pressure, even the session is conducted confidentially. I’m a good example, for not sharing any thoughts to strangers. Yes, I’m aware they are profession in this field and protect patients’ confidentiality, somewhat talk to someone who isn’t close to you, it is quite difficult to open up.

Follow your heart! It seems you are more inclined towards design/mass comm.

Take note that psychology graduates don't only work as a clinical psychologist (which everyone else in forum is quoting on low job opportunity). A psych grad can do more than just psychologist or not practice psychology at all. Do more research into that if you still wish to consider psychology. University counsellors are pretty common, and they tend to have post-grad qualifications like masters ( I know this because I've spoken to one)

A degree is a stepping stone for you to get a job, whether you think it is necessary to study a degree for a particular course or not, unless you have someone to get you a job lol.

Dammmmmm I heard this before from my bro. He say his friends ended up working at banks.
Hence, I'm still not sure about this field. Cause u need to study degree that allows u have a greater opportunityin that field. Not spending money on degree that does not relate to ur career at all
Thanks for telling me the facts.
