Hi, new to the mechanical keyboard scene here smile.gif

I wanted a mechanical keyboard to replace my ancient no-name brand membrane keyboard. I'll be using it for typing and gaming and my budget is about RM300-RM350 smile.gif

need to list out more preference.

do u want rgb/single light/no light?
size? full, tkl, 60, 75, 64?
switch preference? blue, red, brown, black? or more exotic switches?

lots can be buy with that budget.

No preference on lighting, as long as I can turn off RGB lighting

Full size with number pad since I work with spreadsheets quite a bit

Not too sure on the type of switch but I think I'll go with something like Cherry switches (educate me on the different types of mechanical switches) hmm.gif

Hi guys, new here.

Want to know how to differentiate which switch to get?

I saw many colors to choose from.  rclxub.gif

I just bought my first mechanical keyboard and while I'm liking it so far, the problem right now is that the keyboard appears to be too tall and feels quite uncomfortable to type on. Any recommended ways to make it a bit more comfortable? hmm.gif

Get a wrist rest

The only problem is that I tend to put my keyboard quite close to the edge of the table so a wrist rest may not work here sweat.gif

Also my desk has quite sharp edges so it makes things quite uncomfortable to type on sweat.gif

Hi sifus, asking for your opinions on these two budget mkb's i found:
1. Maibenben DMK01
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/maibenbe...s971872917.html

2.Royal Kludge Rk61
https://shopee.com.my/Royal-Kludge-RK61-blu...8234.1505543878

Would like to try mkb's and replace my old logitech membrane keyboard.

owh ic..

so long no follow this thread... and why mechanical keyboard now cheaper?

last time buy mine around rm499

btw gateron switches > mx switches?

Due to competition between Cherry and the Chinese clone switch manufacturers (although the word 'clone' is doing these Chinese manufacturers a disservice mind you, as a lot of these clone switches are often on par, and in some cases superior to those Cherry ones) tongue.gif

Note though different people has different tastes when it comes to key switches really - I'm currently enjoying typing on a Cherry MX Brown keyboard despite many enthusiast says that MX Browns are one of the worst key switches you can get tongue.gif

That being said, you should try to get a key switch tester, or even start off by buying a cheap mechanical keyboard and see whether you like the feel of the switches, or otherwise tongue.gif

Come to think of it - it's a pretty sneaky way if you consider this:

Manufacturers can advertise that their hardware uses standard connectivity, but you only found out that none of the USB cables you have doesn't fit when you need to replace the cables, and the only way is to buy it from the manufacturer (often at a significant premium) devil.gif
