for tecware phantom elite. just make sure you at least verify all sockets, making sure that they are all fine. after that, you should tweak it accordingly (lubing switches and stabs at least. it will be be much better than stock)

ctrl has a lot of things that must be tweaked.

this is my preference: imo the base kit of choice is dz60, a 60%. you can get it from kbdfans like 160+ myr (inclusive of pcb, stock plastic case, cable, gateron switches and pcb-mount stabilizers; this is for plate-less builds. key caps and caplock led are not included)

i like dz60 mainly because of the following:
1. 60%. in custom builds, 60% is the better option because you have the widest choice for parts (including cases, plates, stabs, cable ports). you use less switches too.
2. support for multiple layouts, up to 65-key. by default it supports 61-key standard layout. however there are a number of other layouts for you to choose from.
3. support for plate-less and plated builds. with the right type of cases, like aluminum, 60% plate-less builds are ok. (due to its size, pcb flexes are relatively acceptable compared to other form factors) however you can also use plate if it's required (e.g. support for 3-pin switches; or if you wanna use costar stabilizers; or if you wanna provide additional structural supports from the top plate). there are other benefits of making plate-less builds, so it's really up to your preferences.
4. qmk firmware. for compact boards, firmware customization is important because it lets you define and use your own keymaps. qmk is one of the most common firmware, and it's pretty easy to pick up.

note that this is just my preferred base kit. there are other choices at taobao too

for switch replacement you can look it up at aliexpress or taobao. for key chattering issues like this, first you should try to remove key cap, press down the stem, then blow air into switches in question repeatedly for a number of times. (use something like compressed air can) if this doesn't work, you can desolder the switch, open it up, and clean up its internals, especially copper contact points.

it's better to store your boards in plastic bags, and in their respective boxes.

Cherry brown is tactile. Gateron yellow is linear.

Which one do you like better? You like the brown but also like the slightly heavier feel of the yellow? Try to put the yellow's springs in the brown. The yellow actually comes with a special slow spring. AFAIK it is the only switch that comes with a slow spring.

not sure. sellers do sell switch tops, but not bottom housings.

usually we just get the whole switch and modify from there. this is to make sure the material of which the housing is made, and the contact leaf are what we need, and not from unknown sources.

Aliaz looks great but sound is lacking. Last week I just ordered 30pcs of Outemu Sky, which has a green nylon bottom with SMD cutout. And also 30 pcs of transparent polycarbonate Outemu top cases. Hoping to get best of both worlds.

Will replace my 80g Aliaz I currently have on my XD24 cospad and see.
