personally i never tried these low profile, unless you want to count my boring laptop chiclet keyboard xd....
for mkb i prefer the regular high profile sculpted keycaps. It's not totally flat |

QUOTE(niakulah @ May 6 2020, 12:21 PM) I had similar issues with my keyboard being too tall. I learned to type with my wrists straight and now I'm ok with it. There are many articles about this such as this one: tbh when i started out on high profile sculpted mkb keyboard, i too was a bit intimidated. but i've since gotten used to it.http://www.healthycomputing.com/office/setup/keyboard/ Maybe you can give it a try for a few days, see if you can adapt to it. Probably healthier in the long run too. BTW, I just measured the board I'm using now and it's the same height as your Keychron, 3.5cm to top of keycap. in fact, i purchased a leather cushioned wrist rest to go with the mkb. it made typing on the mkb even more comfortable. but i can also type without it, although instead of on the wrist rest, i rest my elbow on the table instead while my palm/wrist is elevated in air typing. to me it's not that uncomfortable, but i recommend a wrist rest. ![]() |

QUOTE 5 Reasons Why Razer’s Optical Switches Are Superior To Mechanical Ones By Abdullah Saad Wondering which keyboard to buy? The Huntsman Elite with Razer's new optical switches might be the answer The Razer Optical Switches use a completely different actuation method when compared to traditional mechanical switches. While most premium keyboards out there actuate using a metallic contact inside the switch, Razer uses a light beam for every single one of its keys. A light beam passes through the switch stem when a key is pressed, which then actuates via a receiver that sends the corresponding signal to the computer - bringing actuation at the speed of light. The new Razer Optical Switches also include an additional key stability bar (the silver one seen on the GIF on the left) which reduces key wobble and makes the experience feel more consistent. A balanced keypress is achieved across all four corners of the keycap regardless of the press-down location. ![]() https://wccftech.com/5-reasons-why-razers-o...echanical-ones/ This is probly a paid promo piece, so take with a grain of salt. still interesting read, also optical switches, i don't doubt they are WAY better than rubber dome keyboard. And they probably have an edge over the standard mechanical switches, because it makes use of optical technology for better responsiveness This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: May 20 2020, 05:25 AM |

jay's review of the Logitech G915 Wireless Gaming Mechanical RGB Keyboard. says he overspent on it
a 2nd opinion wireless, low profile mkb with roughly 30 hours continous usage battery life. This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: May 20 2020, 09:10 AM |

Which Mechanical Keyboard Switches are BEST? Blind Test! ![]() ![]() ![]() my own vote is cherry mx brown i liked cherry mx red for linear because easy to type on. but it lacks tactile feedback, and at times it feels like the actuation is too light, that i may accidentally actuate. this is why between that and brown, i prefer browns better This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: May 20 2020, 09:17 AM |

QUOTE(horns @ May 20 2020, 12:27 PM) right, always use own-preferred switches that we're most comfortable with. some of those on the blind test, i never tested myself, so not sure about those. but interesting how they scored higher than the mx reds and mx blues tuned cherry mx red with their black nylon housings and stock springs is my all-time favorite. it's partly because i don't have mistyping issues with it. for switch films, you can grab them here for now, https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4946031 (limited quantity) tangerines is about its uhmwpe housings i guess. well, a new housing material. it might be worth trying some. i like cherry mx brown because it has tactile feedback. with linear, you are mostly bottoming out, is good for gaming. but if you don't bottom out, then tactitle is best, because it has the bump feedback to remind you, that you actuated. because these days i no longer look at the keys while i type. instead i type by feel, and the tactile feedback reminds me that i actuated the key, making typing more pleasant and sure anyway just wondering, did anyone here try the Logitech G915 Wireless Gaming Mechanical RGB Keyboard ? is wireless mkb a thing to be taken seriously? the normal mkb with cable, if you have desk Grommets, the cabling should be safely tucked away that way. but if you don't yes it can get a bit messy having cables. my worry about wireless for keyboard is if that is a security risk somehow, whether typing can be intercepted using keylogging for wireless devices. ![]() https://thehackernews.com/2016/07/wireless-keylogger.html This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: May 20 2020, 02:47 PM |
