That is alot for TKL , but I need full keyboard include numberpad.Except , did DIY able to create a mechanical numberpad too ?

Use as typist , so it would be quite hard to find actual wireless+mechanical key + bluetooth cheap.

Anyone use G613 ? can review abit compare to rubber keyboard from those basic d3ll keyboard ? I search some said it's almost the same.
*
RM 500 for TKL custom is considered as very door entry level.

I think wireless mechanical keyboard is very less in the market, because it's redundant feature, it will get signal delay once you have bluetooth interference in your environment.

If you talking about romer-g vs membrane, actually there is difference, longer actuation distance in romer-g making typing more fun. And actuate without need of bottoming.
But, romer-g only have stock keycaps, so, hard to find replacement keycaps like what cherry mx switches can do.
Still, you need to try G613 in retail shop, if you like it, then buy it.

for tecware phantom elite. just make sure you at least verify all sockets, making sure that they are all fine. after that, you should tweak it accordingly (lubing switches and stabs at least. it will be be much better than stock)

ctrl has a lot of things that must be tweaked.

sorry i'm very new to this. what do you meant by tweaking? tecware should be compatible to all cherry mx and gateron right? I wanted to use with either gateron yellow or mx speed

it means applying simple modifications to improve typing feels (and sound). for instance, cherry mx switches are scratchy by default. to get rid of this side effect, we apply lubricant to areas in the switch that cause scratchiness.

yes, tecware phantom elite should be compatible to cherry mx and gateron.

Both are quite similar, just ctrl more expensive. So, tecware actually more worth if you JUST compare tecware with ctrl.
Both boards also need a lot of tuning to get decent typing experience. Just saying though, even some people hype and think tecware is a good option.
The reality is always same, the price you pay = the quality you get.

Tecware Pros:
- Affordable Entry Keyboard
- Mechanical Switches with RGB Lighting
- Have warranty
- Hotswap sockets (easily replace switches if switch rosak)

Cons:
- Board Flex because using integrated plate
- Cheapest ABS keycaps provided, many reported case of stem broken. Please use gentle force when remove keycap
- Hollow tin milo typing feel with amplified sound

I will only rate this board at 3/10. With certain tuning to fix the cons (without need changing any keyboard parts), will get decent 6/10 typing experience.

I'm actually soldering my old keyboard and replacing those switch which is super troublesome and time consuming, hence looking for a new one that's hot swappable.

Say if i dont mind to DIY a new one, where is a good place to hunt?

taobao.

note that modular boards feel differently from soldered boards. while you still enjoy all the benefits that modular boards provide, current generations still have rooms for improvements to make them structurally close to soldered builds

this is my preference: imo the base kit of choice is dz60, a 60%. you can get it from kbdfans like 160+ myr (inclusive of pcb, stock plastic case, cable, gateron switches and pcb-mount stabilizers; this is for plate-less builds. key caps and caplock led are not included)

i like dz60 mainly because of the following:
1. 60%. in custom builds, 60% is the better option because you have the widest choice for parts (including cases, plates, stabs, cable ports). you use less switches too.
2. support for multiple layouts, up to 65-key. by default it supports 61-key standard layout. however there are a number of other layouts for you to choose from.
3. support for plate-less and plated builds. with the right type of cases, like aluminum, 60% plate-less builds are ok. (due to its size, pcb flexes are relatively acceptable compared to other form factors) however you can also use plate if it's required (e.g. support for 3-pin switches; or if you wanna use costar stabilizers; or if you wanna provide additional structural supports from the top plate). there are other benefits of making plate-less builds, so it's really up to your preferences.
4. qmk firmware. for compact boards, firmware customization is important because it lets you define and use your own keymaps. qmk is one of the most common firmware, and it's pretty easy to pick up.

note that this is just my preferred base kit. there are other choices at taobao too

not sure because i usually just use taobao's official delivery services, either direct or consolidated (relatively cheaper if you shipped multiple items in a single batch) both can be tracked. so far so good.

Sorry , I am beginner didn't know much about the price.I think of replacing the keyboard due inconvenient with wire but a bit selfish to have a mechanical key.
Maybe this kind of combo wireless + mechanical full size keyboard.Had been using membrane keyboard for years those delll type keyboard.

Does mechanical keyboard had a standard on key cap size and distant ? similar key size and distance size of every key with standard
I worry it is not standard and I need to adjust the way of typing.

Sometimes , it's a problem when asking those shop to open a product to test type a keyboard. Not every shop allow that.If you know which shop allow , please let me know.
QUOTE(horns @ Mar 11 2019, 11:35 PM)
actually from the specs, g613 comes with romer-g tactile switches, https://www.logitechg.com/en-roeu/products/...g-keyboard.html

you mean to say local units have linear switches? i think you should double check the specs at local shops first. also, if you really liked it, just go ahead. about review, i really suggest you go and try it out personally.

the main reason why we suggest options other than romer-g switches is mainly because the stock caps might not be as durable as the switches. (replacement cap sets might be hard to find) the incompatibility also makes having a mkb a lot less fun hehe
*
Is that so ? The different of linear vs tactile is having a bump knowing what i am typing.
Normally does caps wear out that much on mechanical keyboard compare to membrane ? I though with 3 years warranty from logitech?
Whether it romer-g or cherry mx or outemu , I need to try out all and not all shop allow people like us to open every keyboard blue, brown, red and test.

Main objective is wireless > mech > other features like programmable , bluetooth and etc. Most mechanical keyboard is plug and play usb ? No need to install software to run ?

1. usually it does. except for some non-standard bottom row kibods, and custom kibods.

2. depends on the caps itself. Corsair caps is known to break. unsure about Logitech thou.

3. most is plug and play. except for some back-lit/gaming kibods which u can install their software to control lighting, macro and such. some kibod is controlled on the kibod itself. it really depends on what kibod.

if u live around bangi area, i dont mind u trying my kibods. i have black, blue, brown, red. off the shelf, unlubed, cheapo kibods. all are cherry mx switches.
trying 1 switch is different compare to typing on a kibod. typing give u better idea on deciding switches.
for me, i decided to like them all. rclxub.gif

from their spec sheet, yes. well, even with linear switches, you will also know what you're typing just by looking at the screen.

durability of key cap legends depends on printing technology used. it's not about mechanical vs. membrane. normally mkb warranty doesn't cover key cap legends, i think. you can go for either dye sub or double-shot key caps if you looked for something that last like forever.

just try out the three common switch types in shops with demo units displayed. (usually, for cherry mx and clones, red means linear; brown means tactile; and blue means clicky) most mechanical switches are built based on these three switch types. since you're still new, just pick one that you prefer more or most.

a mechanical keyboard is still a keyboard. it's just an input device that doesn't depend on additional software to operate. the software package is usually used to manage its different features, and sometimes to check and run firmware updates.

as a beginner, the more important thing for you to do is to pick a switch, get a board filled with it and with features that you want, and start using it. this is because a lot of things cannot be learned and understood just by reading, without first-hand experience. if you're interested in mkb modding, then pick up basics along the way, at your own pace. if not, you still get a keyboard with your preferred typing feels, and with features that you wanna have.

edit:

.. or just meet with irsyadfy and his nice collection. he's right, typing on them help to give you better idea on deciding which switch to go smile.gif

there are still good options from ikbc, durgod, and varmilo at taobao/tmall, compared to other places, if you really wanted it.

note that cherry mx silent red is relatively scratchy by default. you can always get rid of the scratchiness by lubing switches after using it for few weeks.
