Something I discovered... In N73ME, there's NO way to close the Music Player ie it's always running in background!! sad.gif

The GREAT NEWS is :
In new V4 FW for std N73, yu can use inbuilt Task Mgr to goto Music Player which takes yu to Music menu. Select Options and then Exit.
Chk with Task Manager and voila! MP is NO longer running... smile.gif

OR while in MP mode, yu can goto same Music Menu screen & do the same.

To use MP after that, just do so via usual Menu route or use the MM Key ie select MP. Yu'll see an animated "Opening..." bar and voila! Yr MP is back & running! smile.gif

Enjoy yr "FREEDOM"! thumbup.gif

not quite there bro... 2 options for ME guyz... 1) press and hold menu button for a few seconds, the task manager will pop up... 2) download Handy Task Manager for symbian which is better.

both offers task kill options. laugh.gif
Re item (1) abv, inbuilt Task Mgr of N73ME NOT allow close or "kill" Music Player. tongue.gif
Even new V4 FW in std N73 does NOT allow that, too! rolleyes.gif

Re item (2), yup...agreed! 3rd party S/ware, eg Handy Task Mgr, enables yu to do so. (Note: my comments were comparing provided orig firmware only. smile.gif ) rclxm9.gif

1 more improvement to my std N73 with latest V4 FW... tongue.gif
Previously I had given up all hope of ever using Voice Commands to call up/activate functions...I get all kinds of WRONG results! sad.gif

NOW, I can activate my BT, preferred Profiles, Camera, etc by long pressing the Right Soft Key and using my own voice! An PERFECT match each time!! smile.gif

How abt yu guys?

Re batt charger, I'm using an ACP 12E with adapter...Output 800mA only but Fully charges in abt 2 hrs fr empty! smile.gif

Re virus protection, AFAIK only F-Secure has an AV prg for S60 V3 phones. Why are the other companies so slow in coming out with their own support? sad.gif
Trend Micro provides a free copy of their own Mobile AV prg for their users but ONLY for S60 V2 phones... sad.gif

anyone came across this issue where both caller and receiver hear their own voice echoes when calling the n73 phone?
Agreed. Definitely Telco network problem! tongue.gif

My 2 cents...

shah6630 has hit the nail on the head, so to say!
Yup...it's a very high probability that restoring fr mem card resulted in conflicts with firmware.
Starting everything fr scratch is best remedy & solution to eliminate problems.
Use 3rd party s/ware with caution. Install one at a time. Test out functions of phone for a reasonable time. If ok, then only install another one. Otherwise, remove that s/ware.

After encountering problems, I now only install Nokia approved s/ware or those I or friends who hv tested to be w/o conflict with firmware.

Erm.. Why isit my 3G isnt working><? i activated everything possible edi.. settings all done.. but to no avail... But when i entered Singapore.. got 3G leh=.= after cross the border=.= No more 3G in Msia edi... why blink.gif
3G is NOT available in MOST parts of Malaysia...sorry... icon_rolleyes.gif
Different Telcos offers 3G services in different areas in different parts of Malaysia.
Like shah6630 said, do pls chk with yr Network Provider abt local access.

And, shah6630, I was & am still doing exactly what you are doing...learning as much as I can abt Symbian phone behaviour & pecularities... thumbup.gif
So that I can understand why certain things work & others don't. Also the underlying causes of problemss. Ha ha! tongue.gif
And, ya...can be FUN, too! whistling.gif

Congrats, my fren... !!
Firstly decision is made by you...sincerely hope it is based on yr needs and NOT what yu hear/read... wink.gif
As always on new purchases, read the manual fr start to finish...and understand what the N73ME has and can do...
As in every gadget, there are limitations, plusses & minuses...
Best advice : Do anything step by step...don't rush things.

May yu enjoy yr new HP...Good Luck!

dead pixel? mine is not dead dead pixel.. just 3 parts of my screen at bottom is not bright enough.. so it look dim
i thought dead pixel is a small total black dot on the screen right?
If not wrong, those (shadowy parts) are the gaps between the backlighting sources (LEDs) for the screen... tongue.gif
