I had problem paying at Tesco Kajang last week, flashing my phone at the eGHL's cube thingy. The thing is, the amount was deducted at my Boost, got shake reward and all but Tesco said they did not see the payment on their side. I had to wait around 10-15 minutes at their customer service counter while they are checking. Finally I returned the goods back because they asked me to pay again which I am not willing to. Reported to Boost and they are still investigating. One week already.....grrrrr.

Today I tried at Tesco Cheras, no problem whatsoever. Hopefully the previous issue was a rare occurrence.

On the other hand, my experience in Mydin is quite good. They scan using their normal handheld barcode scanner. Not sure which payment processor they are using.
