I'm a current MaxisOne 128 postpaid user who has 2 subsidiary lines under my principal line resulting in me paying RM250 a month.

I recently saw the latest Hotlink Postpaid plans and the Postpaid 40 with 16GB for RM40 a month seems perfect for me given that i only use at most, 5GB a month out of my total monthly 120GB allocated pool data shared across the 3 x lines.

Paying RM40 x for 3 lines (RM120 per month) seems like a worthwhile deal vs paying RM250 per month thus saving rm130 a month.

Is anyone considering to switch over to Hotlink Postpaid from Maxis One postpaid? Does anyone have any sharing in terms of service quality after making the switch? Thanks!

Should be upgrade automatically.

Maxis Postpaid cannot change directly to Hotlink Postpaid, need to port out and re-port in again to Hotlink Postpaid.

Which is rather stupid or cunning of Maxis. Its their own branding.
And yes, I encountered that before when I wanted to port into their (now deceased) Ookyo from my ex-Hotlink Postpaid.
Finally I flipped the bird to them and port straight into Yoodo.

But recently I changed my wife (under my name) number from DIGI to Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited. Rm 35/month BTW.

In comparison with old and new Hotlink Postpaid plan
I was on their old 1GB and No Youtube plan - RM 30.

Now I pay the same RM 30 for Yoodo I get
*20GB Data
*20GB Youtube
*No calls. (Instead use Whatsapp call, hehe biggrin.gif )

OK, if I wanted Unlimited call I can always opt for 2000 minutes - Additional RM 12 = RM 42.
Still beats Hotlink 40 plan.

And BTW, if u ask me whether Maxis is better than Celcom, IMHO, pros and cons, depending on area.

Thanks for your kind replies as they were very helpful in my evaluation.

I will try calling up Maxis to ask them in regards to the procedure if i wish to "downgrade" from MaxisOne Postpaid to Hotlink Postpaid for the 1 + 2 lines that is parked under my principal number and see how it goes!

I see no point in paying RM250 every month when i can opt to pay RM120 instead. Every RM130 saved per month willl eventually add up to RM1,560 saved per annum.

We can change directly from Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink Postpaid, just call 123 and tell them. No need go thru prepaid.

Here's abit of help as i personally planning to downgrade my current Maxis Postpaid 128 package to Hotlink Postpaid since i don't require 60GB data a month and normally use a maximum of 4GB and below. These are the steps that i gathered from the service counter assistant at the Maxis center at Sunway Pyramid:

1) Go to maxis center to send request
2) Request service counter to convert current Maxis postpaid line to hotlink prepaid
3) Condition: need to use hotlink prepaid for min 1 month
4) After 1 month has elpased you can then upgrade the Hotlink prepaid account to a Hotlink postpaid package of your choice

Note:

- process takes 3 - 5 days (walk in)
- each hotlink postpaid account will be managed individually
- hotlink prepaid limits 2 x lines to one I.C
- cannot link 3 x accounts under one account to be paid monthly

I'll be making the switch next week over the counter.

So, i recently downgraded my Maxis 128 mobile plan to Hotlink Prepaid to later upgrade it to Hotlink Postpaid after 1 month.

I noticed that the 4G/LTE speed on Hotlink Prepaid is pathetically slow. While i was still on my 128 Postpaid plan, i was averaging around 40MBPS download & 20~ish MBPS upload speeds.

Below is the LTE speeds i'm getting in an open area with good Telco coverage:

Question:

Is anyone else experiencing the same slow speed as i am or perhaps it's a manual setting i need to configure on my phone to fix this issue?

Are you have buy any internet pass, look like this is basic internet speed

Thanks for your reply.

I see. So this means i need to pay an additional RM38 for 30 days of unlimited + calls (6 MBps) for 30 days in the Hotlink app. The RM30 is just for activation and validity for 30 days but with slow internet speed and deductable credit when making calls.
