Flex is like a postpaid right? Meaning as long as i am paying every month, it will not get canceled?

Cos i might need to work overseas for 2 years contract, but would like to keep this number active.

Hotlink flex not good enough in Penang in term of mobile signal.. majority connected with LTE band 3 but very weak signal with 1xx dbm strength..

But in certain area which is below 90 dbm and full bars.. not consistent as KL/PJ area..

umobile 38 60gb quota 4G/5G shared..

hotlink 40 - 45GB.. if look for 5G, need add on RM10.. made it to 50 a month.. not worth la..

is 5G the same across Telco since handled by DNB..

Yes, it makes no sense to stay in hotlink postpaid anymore

either MNP to u mobile, else downgrade to their hotlink prepaid and subscribe RM 45/month

I can claim it every billing cycle under Hotlink Reward. But since this loyalty bonus increase to 15GB, idk if it is still the same. Have to see on my next bill cycle in a few days time.
I believe 5G is the same. 4G is not, hence also have to consider if Umobile 4G is strong enough. Because for some people, not everywhere they go has 5G.

hotlink 4G+ is worse than 4G in my area for hotlink.. but it is usable in my office at bayan lepas when i decided to get hotlink at few years back (previous is Celcom Xpax user).. however, newly renovated office had wifi conenction for employee now.. no issue for TNG payment now even for any other telco..

compared to the time when i have hotlink 4G+ while chilling at restaurant, but my facebook/youtube cant even load.. speed test only show 0.95MBps, upload 1.91MBps.. i just have to wait till 4G connection appear and it buffer probably.. damn hotlink so weak recently at my place.. 4G have average 20mbps.. i tested 5G pass (free for few days).. and it did constantly gave me above 200mbps and no latency in downloading.. im so tempt to have 5G without paying extra RM10..

so i've decided to portover to umobile.. first, save some money if need 5G.. 2nd, my mother using umobile 38 all these while & i paid for her bill.. so far never heard her complaints.. i also asked some of my friends where they only mentioned highway from penang to KL might have DC occassionally..

quota is enver a concern to me, but user experience is the one i care.. i had used for 2 days.. everytime after work, i can watch my youtube at frequent hawker centre/mall.. u know what.. 989 MBps from 5G test at hawker centre and 383MBps at shopping mall.. damn, i like 5G.. in fact, i just need my FB/youtube video load while i am waiting/eating my food..

Hotlink/Maxis had 1 issue which had been exist long time ago, eventhough phone showing 4G/4G+, nothing will load

Have to turn on airplade mode on and off then only can access internet

This is not the same case on my U Mobile

And yes, quota not an issue for me as well, every month I use roughly 40-50% only, as office and home had Wi-Fi
Hence I still undecided whether MNP to U Mobile 38 or downgrade to Hotlink Prepaid
If downgrade to Hotlink Prepaid I no need to pay SST, but then had to reload laugh.gif

exactly.. my case 4G+ cannot load anything and have to wait 4G.. sometimes okay.. sometimes not okay..
prepaid is always have better deals as prepaid ma.. but i dont like the feel to remember the topup & reload date.. so i prefer postpaid..

i barely used more than 10gb of data a month.. some of my friends are looking forward year end for any plan update/price change only make the changes..

my parents used Yoodo customized plan and hopefully this brand is continue to serve as it is consider prepaid but can have auto renewal with minimal monthly payments.. my grandma still using Nokie phone with RM5 per month for voice call only..

Tumpang ask2. Just ported out from Maxis to Hotlink prepaid, they told me 1 month cool-off period.

The past few weeks on Hotlink prepaid, I've been having navigation issue with Waze very frequently. My phone status shows 4G 3-4 bars, location service also working but somehow Waze will just lose GPS signal, it takes quite a long time to reconnect. (long enough to miss multiple junctions  doh.gif)

Never had this issue when I was using Maxis, unless I lose 4G signal totally. To isolate the potential Hotlink issue, I tethered to another phone on Yoodo using hotspot. Cannot replicate this issue, so can most likely conclude not my phone or Waze's problem.

I was planning to change to Hotlink postpaid after the cool-off period, not so sure now. You guys have any insights on this issue?

And also asking. Do prepaid users get second tier citizenship treatment from telco?  hmm.gif

never experience this before.. is that your normal route under city area or you went to somewhere off road?
technically prepaid and postpaid network are just the same.. maxis vs hotlink seem just have different market segment/target customers.. maxis target business users while hotlink target normal customers with affordable plan.

prepaid plan always attractive cause customer paid in advanced and they could enjoy extra benefits while postpaid customer use first pay later concept.. usually lesser benefits as customer might delay the payment or whatever.

It mostly happened in city areas, federal highway towards PJ, around Kerinchi link and also KL city centre area.

Not sure if it has anything to do with using the same Maxis sim card as before. Maxis rep told me no need to change sim card.

Should be network issue. I experienced the same previously but I'm at Penang area. In the end I decided to port out after some consideration & discuss with friends for other network..
