Been looking at what's in the market for awhile now. Can't quite make up my mind yet.

Won't be travelling outstation much, it'll be day to day use between my home and the office. Young family with a car seat.

Read somewhere about the PHEV model for X3 but I'm not sure if this will be made available in Malaysia. Would be a definite buy if they launch the PHEV model here.

Which is a better buy?

Pre-registered X5! It got all the bell and whistles plus a powderful engine !Not,sure how BMW gonna prided the,X3 with the X 5 's competitive pricing! Coming from a Benz owner, I just found that the seat of the BMW is too steep for my back ! However, I don't deny the driving feel is better than the mercs!Btw, GLC long waiting list lor!

It really depends on what you need. X3 coming out new model this year but hybrid probably not so soon, maybe next year. Then again, the BEST buy would probably be Volvo XC60 T8.

TS, I am now given the choice (or dilemma) same as yours. Choose between X3 and GLC 250 4Matic. In the end, which model did you go for and why? I am driving a 5 series now.

GLC premium interior feel vs more powerful BMW engine. Difficult to decide....

BMW X3 xdrive30i --> 252hp/350Nm

GLC250 --> 211hp/350Nm

The only good thing about this X3 in Malaysia is, BMW Malaysia introduce only the 30i series. The rest, its pretty much empty car. No 360cam, no pano roof, no Harman Kardon speakers, not sure about powered tail gate with contactless open/close. For the GLC, MBM updated their line with lane keep assist and blind spot monitor.

Been driving GLC250 since last year, the interior not so boring just that the small screen is an eye sore to me. Have not test drive the X3 yet, so my comparison is only based on the spec sheets by BMW malaysia and paultan. I rarely see the new X3 on the road.

Been offered a pre-reg 2018 car at RM 277k. Delivery in 3 - 4 weeks.

I agree the Merc is a better all rounder and offer better kit.

But I guess the waiting period is longer (I could be wrong).

Anyone here got good contact with any sales person. What to test drive both cars and confirm the specs and delivery time...

Take note the x3 has better rear legroom and has better thigh support.

Currently on loan driving company car Volvo XC60 T6 pre-Thor light version. Don't really like the interior design and driving experience. Maybe too bias towards MB and BMW, haha.

Rear legroom, X3 should be best in it's class. Setup test drive towards end of next week. Then, see can get test drive on GLC or not.

X3, TBH, has one more advantage. 5 years or 100k free service. I am clocking currently about 22-25k mileage per annum. This is good enough to get me to 4 years maintenance free. Conti cars once goes beyond 4-5 years is when aging shows through the amount of repairs and whatnot.

I understand that GLC offer only 4 years warranty and even lesser mileage when it comes to free repair? I could be wrong....

daily driving glc i felt that the suspension is abit wobbly compared to sedan car maybe due to it's height, the boot space is enough for daily use or short gateway but if you have a family with more than 2 kids then it might be small for you. When the car is not warmed up enough it tends to jerk until it is warmed up.

Looks like you already set your sight on BMW, then go for it.

As for rear leg room, I am not sure about GLC but for the new X3 Bobby Ang has pointed out that BMW make the seat base short so that it looks like having large rear leg room. But thigh support is not good.

I am currently on my cheapo Sorento FL, and the seat base is super long, very comfortable on long journey drive.

That one should be previous generation. I can say that Volvo's newer models are a lot better in terms of interior and exterior design.
for me XC60 Inscription plus > GLC250 > X3

With all the kits included in the car, both GLC and X3 is out of the league. Only applies to GLC250 and X3 xdrive30i. Not only the kits, but also performance. When u see the specs of this XC60, you'll feel like being shortchanged by BMW and MBM rclxms.gif I could not recall what was the promo for XC60 when i visited it last december. Only for Year-end promo something like free service if im not mistaken. There wont be much discounts for XC60 or none at all cause it is hot selling and months of waiting list.

For GLC, my own experience, not much hassle for repair. Got few issues previously and the recent one they came and repair it at home with their mobile service
https://www.motortrader.com.my/news/cc-bint...rvice-malaysia/

Before that, my SA came and pick up the car from home to SC for repairs and provided me with courtesy car E250 for months. That was a major issue related to ECU. So far not much issues with C&C after-sales services. Need to know which SA to choose and SC. If you got problematic SA then too bad lol.

Of all the new Volvo, somehow xc60 gives the impression that it’s a wagon more than a suv. That’s the killer for me...fear of being branded as the mag with a WAGON

If possible and you like driving pony up for the x5 ( 6 cylinder heaven ) . X3 ( 4 cylinder ) but there’s a 73k difference between the two. X5 really is suv heaven on the throttle and driving dynamics.
