Well, I believe that almost everyone, if not everyone, is behind one of my friends. He has easily spent RM100k on his camera system, including a 5d, 20d, 3, 70-300 DO, several L lenses, tilt and shift, and god knows what else in the past few months.

my personal aim is my dad. f4,f5,d70s, 135DC,80-200AFS,etc... envious...

but 100k! lols, thats alot of money.

About a week ago a shop in Penang quoted me 580EX (not 580EX II) for RM1620 and the boss said can still further reduce the price if really interested. I didn't buy it because wanted to wait for the 580EX II pricing first.

It is because after reading a Hong Kong camera forum which has a similar topic, the newbies in the forum actually have a sort of idea of what to spend and what not to. I actually learnt a lot from that forum and hope to give some idea to our newbie here the same idea too. cool2.gif

i still dun have Lowepro bag (using old SLR back now blush.gif ), manfrotto tripod (which model to get huh wink.gif ?) as well external flash (430Ex or 580Ex II ?? doh.gif )

Well, it is sometimes depends on what you need and prepare to spend. To be honest, I'm not using Lowepro either but a backpack given to me during my camera purchase and a cheapskate tripod because I like its light-weightness. As for the flash unit, its an useful item if most of the photos are indoor and it will also improve your outdoor potrait photos too.

main DSLR is no way return oredi..you cannot forever stay with kitlens only brows.gif when your poison get deeper you will understand the feeling of " rclxm9.gif " thumbup.gif ...

Unless at certain point you can totally cut and sell all your stuff..probally that will alot you get back about 60-70% of total $$ you spend...

Lens value is always there laugh.gif

Ps : I am also a few months newbie biggrin.gif

I use those bags you find at Children's dept to put milk bottles. BOught a big one from Jusco. Lots of compartments , just the not that well padded but taken care via a thick and soft t shirt which acts to protect my camera body + lens during light drizzle.

to be honest , the investment on other accessories are those which are seldom accounted for. e.g. Dry Cabinet tongue.gif , Cleaning kit , CPLs , Bags , memory , etc

i have a question, how come dslr has higher chance to get fungus and pns / prosumer dont have to worry such problem at all??

Well, for DSLR you tend to have more than 1 lens , leaving it unutilised. I doubt there would be any difference in fungus growth as both has machanical and optical elements.

now to think about it, actually i heard about prosumers having fungus as well.. whistling.gif biggrin.gif

i think it has to do with the type of users and the pace of prosumers:-
a) Less fussy users (at least in general comparison with d/SLR users). Maybe its there, but no one really notices anyway. Maybe when the time comes, you'd rather buy a new one anyway than getting it cleaned <-- if its possible?

b) by the time the fungus is really noticeable, the prosumer could most likely be in the bin anyway, outclassed by a newer model.. haha blush.gif
