I always thought contract plans with phone is not as cheap as it seems cos the monthly plan is higher than normal plan.

Some ppl like small size phone because fit the hands.

No matter wat device with storages/batteries, it will always degrade over time. Even laptops have battery issues or performance issues.

Just need to do housecleaning once a while. Also as time goes by, apps get bigger and more complex ...sucking more juice from any machine.

I been using my phones samsung s3, s6+, oppo N3 etc till now....no issues at all.

Actually Samsung's device maintenance already good enough, but SD Maid is more convenient and customizable since it let you choose which part you wish to clean up, while Samsung Device Maintenance clean all of them at once.

Yesterday i bought one full coverage tempered glass cost 199 from samsung store in Midvalley, they took out from counter without any box..kononnya full gam on entire screen, not just the edges..
After they apply, i immediately regret..damnn ugly on the edges.. and not so responsive anymore to touches..even after i turn on the sensitivity for touches in settings..

See the edges..aduh..certain top rows got blocked in game..

I saw the demo set last week. New purple colour is nice but coral blue is very nice too! It’s more like darker blue or navy blue for me.

not much difference from s8+. made me regret.
daytime photos are meh. no difference with my worker's oneplus 5.
not yet try low light.

edge screen not practical as ever. distorts photos, videos and accidental touches.

fingerprint scanner is done right. (not using face recognition - insecure, iris scanner - scared spoil eyes).
so far no lag. need to install more apps and take more photos to further test.

meh.
not much improvement compare to s8+.
samseng getting lazy. no new tech. boring.

It seems that it’s not just in benchmarks that Samsung’s new flagship Galaxy S9 is failing to keep up with the iPhone – the same seems to be true of its new Intelligent Scan face unlock system …

Samsung’s early attempts at face-recognition were embarrassingly bad. Both the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 were quickly shown to be defeated by photos and video. The company even tacitly admitted the security failings by not allowing face-recognition to be used for its Apple Pay competitor, Samsung Pay.

While Samsung is touting what is ostensibly a smarter version of face unlock in the Galaxy S9, it seems the system is simply faster, rather than more secure.

CNET reports that the S9 appears to first try the same low-security 2D face recognition system used in earlier devices, then attempt an iris scan if that doesn’t work, and finally combine the two if neither is successful on its own. The result is that unlock is quicker and more reliable, but no more secure.

One security researcher believes Samsung was trying to match the speed, rather than security, of Face ID.

    “They want to provide some level of security but also make it easy and effective for you to get into the phone,” said Andrew Blaich, a researcher with mobile security company Lookout. “This is probably trying to play catchup with how smooth the user experience is for the iPhone.”

The security researcher who successfully defeated the iris scanner in the Galaxy S8 says he can’t even see the sport in doing it again with the S9.

    Jan Krissler, a security researcher known as “Starbug” with the hacking group Computer Chaos Club, exposed the Galaxy S8’s weaknesses last May when he fooled Iris Scan with a photo and contact lens. He said his group’s not interested in trying to crack Intelligent Scan if there’s nothing new.

    “There is no fun in hacking just a new release of the same system,” Krissler said in an email.

And Samsung, once again, doesn’t allow Intelligent Scan to be used with Samsung Pay, seemingly confirming its own view of the level of security offered.

Last year’s Galaxy S8’s face and iris unlock were both hacked. From the start, Samsung made sure that users knew that face unlock will not work with Samsung Pay or Secure Folder. And that has not changed for the Galaxy S9. Analysts and security experts see Samsung as playing catchup to Apple’s Face ID technology. For the time being, Samsung is focused on convenience rather than security.

So far, nobody attempted to hack the Galaxy S9 with a photo, but the hackers who did so with the Galaxy S8 suggest they could still do it, as nothing has really changed. “There is no fun in hacking just a new release of the same system,” Jan Krissler told CNET in a mail.

In a press release, Samsung insists that Intelligent Scan is faster and more secure. But it implies that it can’t be used for mobile payments as Samsung Pay isn’t even mentioned. Furthermore, in the same announcement, it mentions fingerprint unlock as the way to go to decrypt the Secure Folder.

Replicating Face ID might not even be an easy task for Samsung, considering that Face ID camera components delayed the iPhone X launch. And while supply has improved, Apple has been very aggressive in securing TrueDepth camera parts for the iPhone X. Others have claimed that Apple’s competitors are some two years behind when it comes to 3D facial recognition tech.

Battery life is getting better after 2 weeks. But the standby time is not so good. 100% at 11pm. Wake up 5 am already drop around 92% with wifi & 4G on. With IP8 Plus it can remain 100% for 12 hours.
