Dear /k, Recently i have bought a ps4 along with 4k tv. However, due to the UHD resolution, the tv is now being dominated by my family members. They are willing to stop their movies/youtube for me whenever i want to play games, but deep inside my heart this kills me. Therefore, im looking for other options so that i could play game while they watch movies. Remote play may be the best option for me. Please share your remote play experiences with these devices 1) any xperia 2) ps vita 3) laptop

i curi curi play with remote play in the office with my surface 3, have to plug in the Dualshock 4 via USB cable to play, no problems also. but i do feel a slight lag once in a while. not recommended for movement intensive games like FPS, good for random farming runs just to pass the time. also very dependant on ur internet speed.

pc/laptop. if your ps4 is nearby your room, create a dupe acc. for remote play. then use your controller to connect to your actual account. no need to plug in usb. usually lag happens because of the usb.
tldr - dupe acc - for laptop screen. own acc - for control

Done that a few times. 1. Tested it with the Vita. Both the phat and the slim one. It's alright 70% of the time. But the connection sometimes screws up leaving me with laggy/poor quality image.
2. Tested it with a Mac. Since both Ps4 and Mac are connected via local wired Ethernet, it's as smooth as butter. Hardly notice any lag. Can even play FPS.

Also im on streamyx 8mb. for remote play on pc don't need overpower pc also can. just dload the "remote play"app from sony website. install it and run. sync both pc and ps4 using the same network. gotta key-in numbers from ps4 screen. later after sync complete just plug in ur ds4 using usb cable to pc. play like normal after that. been using this to stream my Persona 5 and Tales of Berseria gameplay on fb using nvidia broadcast on my pc since both games blocked the sharing function lol

That was a nice sharing. I have tried with my pc, but the lagging was terrible. The internet speed sure does plays an important role for the remote play. Well i guess, maybe should consider buying a small monitor. (this is not align with the thread, but, whatever )

Use of this new feature requires a PlayStation system, DUALSHOCK wireless controller, an account, and high-speed Internet connection. https://apktall.com/ps4-remote-play-apk
