Has anyone tried buying Nintendo Switch from Japan?

If yes what would the total be including all the taxes from customs?

I don't think it'll be worth it unless you personally brought it back from japan or have someone bring it on their flight. Shipping is tricky as most normal postal services has a limit on how many batteries an item contains (Switch has 3), plus custom taxes and it'll most likely more expensive than local prices.

Not worth. Better buy local which have warranty.

If you personally or friend/relative buy in Japan and bring back than it will be cheaper due to Tax Refund + 5% Visa Discount.

The price of local selling Switch has come down, around RM1.3k, so I think it's quite reasonable already now.

Previously was RM2k > RM1.8k > RM1.5k.

Japan is selling around RM1.1k also IIRC

Agree, you can buy at Mission World Enterprise locate in Mid Valley, console and game are cheaper ( For Me ) or buy from Japan but if you buy at Japan you can't direct open it or else you will get charge by tax.

HeavyArms sell their game usually around 20~30 bucks cheaper than MissionWorld , although their staff aren't very friendly lately from my experience . Again , if you are not here to make friends with the shop keepers and they deliver the goods , why not ?

Been there... not what I would call cheap when they are selling switch for 14xx after rebate. You can get at shopee for 1.2k but downside have to pay shipping if you ever wanted to claim warranty.

Buying online cant get sales tax rebate. Only buying in person at stores can get tax free by showing passport. Some even managed to get discount ontop which translate into RM1k Switch which is really cheap.

Yeap they were surprisingly fast! They shipped out my orders as soon as I've made my purchase, and it's already on my hands! biggrin.gif
