i don't think a.silky terrier is biiger size...anyway, Mika's mother was a beauty pageant before that's why she's quite small in size...the vet also said she's too small to breed...

silky is an active breed smile.gif
If u looked them inside ur room and they can hear someone was outside they will bark to ask for attention smile.gif

This is what I've been told by those 'seniors' bout this breed laugh.gif
I still like silky and I'm not buying them so soon cuz I need a better place and I want them to be happy with me =]

I think aussie silky terriers and silky terriers are referring the da same dogs.. blush.gif

However, silkies do come in different sizes..look at my lil April, 8++ mths old d but still so small sized, ~2kg onli. Hehe..

Most dogs will act the same and bark when they're locked. I wont recommend locking your dogs..very kesian de unsure.gif

Silkies are hyperactive, but still it depends on luck. Some ppl might have really quiet and obedient silkies (like 1 of my frens), while some have extremely active, naughty, playful, noisy (the list goes on and on..) silkies (like me !! laugh.gif )

hi anderyna,

Prices for silkies varies between 1k to 2k, depending on the bloodline etc. But there are cheaper ones which ranges from RM500 to RM800 (prob without cert). Anyway, please choose the silky from a reputable breeder ya nod.gif

Colours for silkies vary from black-tan-brown to silver. They change their fur colour while aging from time to time. Mine was purely black-tan while still a puppy, and now its silver-tan-gold at age of 8 mths.. who knows what's the next colour? Haha.. tongue.gif

Anyway, babymiki : I had think it over and although its adoption wit fees or free still means I'm taking cuz it for adoption so better save up more money n buy my own hee smile.gif

muchan86,

thanks..its tiny, but hyper naughty!! doh.gif haha.

maltese is a good choice too, but IMHO it really needs a lot of care. Tear staining will be a real major problem, and if their fur are not cared enough, it'll turn yellowish and pink. Besides, maltese can be as hyperactive as silkies too. Perhaps white_palace can advice you more on maltese as he's the pro in this smile.gif Still, maltese are super cute too!! so cuddly !!

I totally agree..me kena a really tiny silky..bring her everywhere ppl will say that she's yorkie..haha laugh.gif Maybe have to hang around her neck a signboard saying "I'm purely Silky" !! flex.gif

Perhaps the fact that silky is a mix between Aus terrier and yorkie that caused the variation in sizes..with some resembling more of Aus terriers and some more of yorkies..my 2cents.
