I try to renew my car insurance online which will due in 1 month time. The JPJ status shows unsuccessful due to VEL000199 record already exist. So i need to call JPJ or insurance company for further action?

Renewing car insurance online is through insurance company's website. JPJ has nothing to do with it at this stage. You should call your insurance company. Renewing insurance 1 month before it expires is possible.

Anyway if you want to save money, try dealing with insurance company yourself. You get to set the amount you want to insure and also discount (extra discount after ncd). After you get cover note, just goto pos office or jpj to renew roadtax.

I just try Kurnia online past few days, and I still have more than a month before expire.

It was pretty smooth, received the SMS for roadtax renewal within 5~10 mins.

maybe JPJ status haven't updated yet because I just paid last night thru takaful Malaysia online.

Call takaful and verified. Then try renew road tax. If can renew then ok

aiyoo..that time when you pay for insurance online...there is a status stated sending info to jpj.

it takes less 5 minutes for insurance to update to jpj database der.... once successful can renew roadtax straight maa.

That is the correct answer. insurance info need to uploaded to JPJ then only can renew roadtax.

I manage to renew roadtax at JPJ without any issue. I think the problem lies on Insurance website never update the JPJ status. I paid my insurance on Sunday night.
I paid insurance for another car on the next day. No issue on JPJ status.
So I am guessing the Insurance website only checked once. If falls on Public Holiday/weekend, it will show fail status. Just my guessing.
