hi guys,

need some help.
somehow when i connect my android with USB cable to my PC, my PC is not able to detect the phone.. therefore unable to access the content of the phone.

i have googled but dont think i have found any useful info.

i understand a lot of the method is asking u to go into the setting, to "USB computer connect", the tick the "Media Device (MTP)" (which i already did that.)
But i think my problem the pc is totally unable to detect the phone. There is no sound / prompting messages on both phone and PC when the USB cable is connected to both phone and PC.
Not sure it is the problem with the phone.
The thing is, quite some time ago it can be accessed thru PC without any problem. But don't know since when it couldn't work anymore.

could it be as simple as i have to use the correct cable as mentioned in the following:

some of the youtube / link that i have referred:

What phone? Does the phone website have application for its phones? I believe the problem is the driver for the phone is needed, which sometimes did not work with generic one in Windows

The thing is.. it used to be able to connect using PC like USB.

When you plug the phone, did the phone shows charging status? IF it is not, it maybe phone hardware problem if not the cable or USB port. sad.gif

Have you tried removing all the USB drivers from the PC and let the PC reinstall again automatically?

Hi there, try to enable usb debugging by accessing the Developer Option from clicking on Build Number for a numerous of time from the About phone section.

Secondly, reinstall the driver for the USB and try again.

what is your question again?
are u facing the same issue as me?

i did that to my old samsung phone.
Use a USB cable to copy all the files to the PC and then did a factory reset.
The phone is good to use again thumbup.gif
Just make sure u know how to back up some contacts, setting (if u need to), photos, etc.
or whatsapp chat history. Then u can load them to ur new "factory reset-ed phone"

omg.. turn out really the cable make the difference.
Apparently if u use a "charging only" cable.. nothing will happen if you plug ur phone with that cable to your pc. (PC will not detect any external device been plug-ed in.)
Borrowed a "original" cable with "PC transfer compatible" from friends.. then problem solved.

Didnt notice when i swap the cable..

let me know if i should close this topic when the problem is solved.
