as mentioned, nowadays most phones have some degree of curve edge which I am not a fan of. any recommendations of a good flat edge screen phone?

Except for Samsung, most of the flagships from other brands are flat; without mentioning the budget or preference, I can give a few suggestions: iPhone X, iPhone 8, Huawei Mate 10 Pro, HTC U11+, Google Pixel 2 XL

actually what i mean is that the edge is totally flat. phones like iphone x, iphone 8, note fe there is some degree of curve at the edge. i would prefer the good old phones that comes with flat screen - ei if i were to put tempered glass, there won't be any halo effect.

I think you mean phones without 3D and 2.5D glass
My suggestions

Only g6 is without curve . All of those have curve screen

yeah. no doubt a little edge is nicer but for some1 who needs tempered glass or SP, really a hassle.

A good tempered glass will fit the screen perfectly.

from my experience of s7 edge previously, there is no good tempered glass for edge phones at the moment. not sure about those 200-300 bucks tempered glass though. but for sure, the normal ones doesn't stick well especially the edge.

edit: I never use screen protector of any sort since forever. Maybe you should try that.

too ocd. tried with my s7 edge. still got hairline scratch no matter how careful i am

Has 2.5D curved glass. But it is pretty durable though.

i had mi max 2 it has 2.5d very big screen but at maximum brightness looks overexposed.

wonder why they don't make flat edge anymore nowadays. curved edge easily break as compared to flat edge.

That's the point, they want you to break it. More money for them.

Well most rugged phoned use flat glass with no arc at all.
Example: Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, Cat S60 and S61, AGM X2 etc.
