So... even though UOB was harping about how the UOB One CC is no different than the Citibank Cash Back CC, I just realised the following:

1) Topping up to other eWallets other than Grab gives 0 cashback now.
2) Autobilling is an eligible transaction for cashback now?
3) Utility is no longer an eligible transaction for cashback now.

EDIT: Holy sh- just viewed the T&C. Looks like lots of things to change in my cashback tracker spreadsheet. doh.gif

Just received a SMS from UOB. Guess the cashback calculation is still a mess.

RM0 UOB:We apologize that the cashback for ONE card is overdue. We will update you when the outstanding cashback is credited. Thank you for your patience.

Is it just me but I find it difficult to cancel a UOB credit card?

Basically I was an existing user of the ONE platinum card, but I found out that I was unable to hit the spending requirements for getting their cashback so I applied for their ONE classic..
After getting the ONE classic, called their customer service to cancel the ONE platinum but I was told that I can only cancel their card after their card cancellation team calls me wtf (I could easily cancel my Citibank credit cards last time via a single phone call)

Maybe their retention team is just aggressive as hell (but I’m still using their ONE classic card tho🤔)

Update: seems like the card might be cancelled already as I can no longer see it on my UOB app🤔

How long ago was this? I was under the impression that UOB One card is no longer available for new application.

It's still there, but the reward structure is very different from the one offered to the citibank conversions.

mine called to waive annual fee.

credited same day with email notification.

That's fast. Did you go through live agent or just the automated IVR where you key in your card number & phone number to have the waiver processed?

first, i did the ivr.

then i called and talked to human agent to get AF waiver (and SST rebate, which not offering anymore, no harm asking)

Colleague & I did the AF waiver via automated IVR on the same day but he received SMS informing of his successful request yesterday while I got nothing.

Called & spoken to the CS a few minutes ago & was passed to the retention team, only to be informed that they're only offering me 50% waiver. I inquired the reason & was told I need to meet the RM15K spend. I countered that this new requirement will only take effect next year & it's not applicable this time around.

They then told me they'll attempt to resubmit my request for full waiver again & let me know by tomorrow morning.

SMH.

thru UOB website? https://www.uob.com.my/default/contact-us.page

or called CS directly?

Initially I just used the automated IVR by calling them but it went no where. Then I spoke to a human CS & managed to get the waiver.

But the 15k spending criteria only starts Jan2026.

Yeah, that was the same BS UOB gave me as well. They only relented when I pointed out that this new criteria has yet to be in effect.

Yes, the CS claimed that they would help me to "resubmit" my application & I got it the next day.
