hi all, the uob card promoter offer 5 yrs af waived if (must) take 2 cards, with bt for new member at 0% for 6 mths or 1% for 12 mths. however i cant find all this information on the uob website, is it common bank not to disclose all their marketing benefit and condition, instead just let the promoter do the talking?

i apply yolo n one believing the cb is quite attractive, with af fee waived for 5 years. however after i do more reading, i then realize yolo is on first come basis, which mean no guarantee? if that the case, i think it render the card quite useless for me since we might have better choice. should have do more research before apply, but it really take time.

hope there is 0% bt for new user.

uob allow new user 0% bt 6 months or 1% bt 12 months, both are pretty attractive.

"Can choose to deduct from wallet if primary payment method is wallet which I always do.
For this UOB promo, looks like primary payment method must be UOB card and not wallet."

whats the diff? is there an option to make uob card a primary payment method? i top up 200 so mean no cb at all? opps!

i think i shd continue to use mbb/hsbc that is less complicated, treat others as my final option.

may i know how you guys pay 625 in 1 day?

break down into 16transactions from Jompay?
*
my utility total up is less than 300, or slightly more, i think 625 is enormous. from another angle, perhaps we should save more on utility to save the rm50?

generally speaking, i notice there is vast diff among bank treatment towards rebate on sst. some bank is rigid, but stick to what they committed, one don't have to call or chase or raise query, for eg mbb n cimb. cimb gave the rebate in the same month after 3 transactions, no need call or pursue further.

some bank are much flexible, we never know if what told by their marketing is correct or truth because the cs have no idea what was committed, and no idea what sort of promotion they do, the most obvious one is singapore bank such as uob. one have to call to get thing done, and most of the time, they don't give direct and frank reply but in the end, one still get what he wants if he persistently pushing and negotiate. the cs told me i must call and make a request in order to get the rebate even though their marketing did make a commitment.

is this a cultural thing?

btw, i will give msia fm a minus point for implementing sst, go tax the superrich, idiot.

Service Tax for credit cards was already there before GST era, so it is nothing new. Last time was RM 50 per card under Najib's time.

Well, it depends on banks. MBB doesn't need to beg people to stay because people beg to them to get their cards.

UOB on another hand, a lot of its sales come from CC, so CC is one of their core businesses and they really want to retain customers.

haha, so nothing is new in new msia.

nothing related to cultural. to reward or retain the users is totally another matter; and it's all down to business.

dont expect the cs/frontliners to know the details, in advance. if properly done, they SHOULD have been briefed/trained of new promotions/policies. but in reality, with so many stuffs ongoing and so many support staffs by each bank, information cascading down from the top/decision-makers would be lagging or most of the time, incomplete. well, some creative support staffs may "assume" with their own interpretation as well biggrin.gif
*
thanks for the good education, perhaps I shdnt use the term cultural, what i am trying to imply is that some banks make it a practice not require too much assessment and decision making in their process, while some is always case by case, and depend on how we consumer/user challenge and argue our case.

This may be out of topic. But what you’re saying is simply being the badass guy and whack whoever did not give you for what you think you’re entitled, disregarding the stated tnc.

A bank can give certain benefits at their discretion and SG banks can afford to do so as bank’s rate is as high as 28% meanwhile msia only charge up to 18%. That’s a vast 10% difference.

Guess complain is a cultural thing where MAS has to entertain every little penny complain. LEL. That’s what a lot goes... this is not matter of money, but a matter of principle of a penny. Simply toxic.

A bank giving sst rebate is being nice. One that doesn’t give doesn’t mean they’re not nice. They’re not obliged to do so. You want their service, you pay for it.

i hv no idea how yr para 1-3 have anything to do with i wrote, or even the 4th one.

mbb n cimb stick to their tnc on new card user, no need to call or beg. if one disagree, one can always stop using their product.

uob hv no clear tnc, it depend on what their marketing offer, thus even after the marketing told u swipe 3 times to get the rm25 rebate, the bank wont do anything unless one call them and make a request, if no call is made, then they just buat tak tahu and no rebate given even after 3 swipes, cybpsych said all we can do is ask is to me a relevant reply. that said, i still think uob approach is developed out of a kiasu mentality, sort of cultural thingy.

Not much, in fact didn't even touch the PRVI Miles card at all. ONE card some months use a bit, most of the time 0 transactions.

I called to cancel and I wasn't expecting them to waive either since not many transactions. They said they will process my cancellation but somehow called me few weeks later to offer another 2 years of annual fee waiver ...

In fact today they call me to offer me ANOTHER card despite already kena con by them to get a 3rd card  doh.gif

mean 4 cards? wow....they agree to give rebate on sst as well?

it doesnt matter which payee. as long as jompay, then eligible (so far that we noticed).

i've tried paying for health supplements via jompay too. no issue getting cashback.

try yourself next month to observe the cashback (assuming no revision of T&C  laugh.gif )

i realised mpsj assessment no jompay. seem only option left is perhaps jop.

very slow. do they hv a cordial working relationship with bank? my experience seem to suggest otherwise. that's said, perhaps i am not the lucky one. i still think those agent work at booth seem more aggressive n efficient, problem is there are always bad apple around.

Thanks. Will keep that in mind. Yes, I am seeing the SST charged for both cards. This can't be waived right? By the way, for both cards, UOB ONE and UOB preferred. Which of this card will you suggest that I will keep and continue using?
*
i think since mbb stop cb for bp n boost, this render my uob one quite useless, my cb cant even cover sst. i dont have enough spending to make full use of mbb cb. i might cancel it even though no af for 5 years.
