Hey guys, just cancelled my One card and PRVI Miles card after 2 years of barely using them, but they told me to try YOLO
Looking at the criteria and all the discussion here, doesn't seem like the card suits me (too much hassle to actually benefit from the 120k cashback pool)
However, I'm still thinking of using it just for the Grab rebate, but that pool seems even harder to reach ...
Any thoughts? Should I just leave the card unactivated?

QUOTE(digimon09 @ May 31 2019, 04:36 PM) Your YOLO already approved? If yes, you will be charge SST although you didnt activate it. Really? The fella on the phone said won't be charged until after activating it ... Maybe I should use it for a year and see how it goes then

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 31 2019, 04:48 PM) YOLO is a useful card for all sorts of bills. Not a hassle at all, at least for me. Free RM 50 every month without fail. I don't have that many bills to pay ... yet Basically 16 transactions and 625 spend before 10th of each month right?

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 31 2019, 04:58 PM) I will spend on 1st, it is always in drawer, no need to bring out. Pay Digi, UniFi, TIME broadband and Astro. RM 625 is not enough, have to split around RM 40 to AmEx for Astro. How to hit 16 transactions though?

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 31 2019, 05:06 PM) Split each transaction to at least RM 10? Ah okay, got it. Apart from this and MBB Amex, what other cards do you have?

Hey guys, would appreciate some input on my situation ...
So previously I have a ONE card and PRVI Miles card but the 2-year annual fee waiver expired. When I was about to cancel, they offered me a YOLO card to which I accepted. I figured they wouldn't waive since I didn't even touch the PRVI Miles card and only use the ONE card occasionally (main cards are Maybank Amex and FCB). At this point I haven't been charged RM25 sst for ONE card and PRVI Miles card.
They called me few days ago telling me that they decided to give me another 3 years of annual fee waiver for both the ONE card and PRVI Miles card, and now I'm stuck with 3 UOB cards.
I'm thinking maybe I should start consolidating all my fuel spend on my ONE card since previously I only use ONE card when I know I maxed out my cashback for my MBB AMEX. For the PRVI Miles card the 50% off Grab airport ride is attractive since I'm travelling some time later this year but I know there's a limit and not sure if that justifies the RM 25 sst charge. YOLO card ... idk man I kinda regret activating this card, but I guess I can use it to pay bills even if I don't hit the 8% threshold since utilities are excluded from MBB cards now.
Another option is to just cancel my ONE card and PRVI Miles card anyway to reduce my headache.
Thoughts?

QUOTE(danny2u @ Jul 1 2019, 12:03 AM) I have same situation with you now. The worst thing is next month MBB Barcelona and AMEX cannot have cashback started next month 8th July from ewallet anymore. 😠I feel you ... I don't do the top up cash out thing, but it was nice to double dip since I use Grab/Boost/TnG

QUOTE(Sammie7 @ Jul 2 2019, 01:24 PM) You spent a lot using your UOB card? So nice they give you waiver on the annual fee. Was wondering how much I need to spent in order to get waived on the annual fee. Not much, in fact didn't even touch the PRVI Miles card at all. ONE card some months use a bit, most of the time 0 transactions. I called to cancel and I wasn't expecting them to waive either since not many transactions. They said they will process my cancellation but somehow called me few weeks later to offer another 2 years of annual fee waiver ... In fact today they call me to offer me ANOTHER card despite already kena con by them to get a 3rd card

QUOTE(YH1234 @ Jul 2 2019, 10:36 PM) mean 4 cards? wow....they agree to give rebate on sst as well? I ask back the customer service person "how many cards do I have right now?" then after that she back tracked and asked me if I wanted supplementary card instead of offering me a 4th card Sst no la ... do they usually give rebate on sst for existing customers? I figured if I manage my cards properly I can get back my worth in cashback. If they do then I'll have to call again

Few questions ...
1. Why use bigpay to increase transactions? Boost cannot? 2. A lot of discussion about eligibility of Boost for cashback. Yes/No? 3. Tng e-wallet? 3. Can also split jompay transactions to increase transaction count?

Friend just told me about YOLO tnc revision and I immediately came here and started reading from post #5551, haha Guess I might try the following: RM285 TnG - 1st Jan RM285 Boost - 1st Jan RM15 TnG - 4th Jan RM15 Boost - 4th Jan RM200 Grab - 4th Jan I've been paying TNB and pumping the rest of the RM625 into TNG and Boost for the past few months and had no issues hitting close to RM50 cashback. For One Card really can consider cancelling liao ... I only kept it around because they waived annual fee (I didn't even know you can get the SST waived back then!) and only use it for another RM200 for Grab (I use a lot of GrabPay) and weekend fuel. If Grab benefits don't renew I'll just get rid of it and dust off my m2c amex ... EDIT: oh ya time to get rid of my PRVI also ... only used it for half priced airport rides EDIT2: went through my statements in detail ... realised Oct cashback only appeared in Dec statement. Means Nov and Dec need to wait longer This post has been edited by RitzyHoke: Dec 26 2019, 12:04 AM

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 26 2019, 12:14 AM) TnG and Boost no need to wait till weekend but you stated the reason, OK.. Anyway, hopefully e-wallets are still part of CB entitlement, gotta try and wait for Jan CB to validate. Any other credit cards that have cashback for ewallets?

QUOTE(berrycoo~ @ Dec 28 2019, 12:00 AM) Just curious why do you say its harder to achieve the CB criteria compared to last time? Can this be done in 1 day instead of 5? Lesser cashback per cardholder + higher total cashback pool = a longer time to fully deplete the total cashback pool Also removing bills and no repeated merchant per day makes it harder to hit the criteria

When does the cashback for UOB YOLO get credited in ah?
Also, if I use RM300 e-wallet top up + RM300 any pay wave spend, should qualify for RM30 cashback right? (assuming before the pool dries up)
Case study for those requesting for SST waiver here, I recently called to cancel with the reason for change of T&C (a bit malas to chase cashback d so wanted to get rid of the card). They offered to waive my SST for the year + RM50 cashback as SST waiver for next 2 years (showed up as "retention cashback"). Previously been using this card solely for e-wallet top-ups (use RM600 ngam ngam each month)

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Sep 4 2022, 08:17 PM) 1) yolo cb crediting -- read yolo t&c, clause 11 for the official SLA. for past 3 months (jun-aug), cb credited on the 9th. 2) yolo cb based on specific MCC -- refer above. your "any pay wave spend" is valid if not part of exclusions, again listed in T&C 3) wahhh, not bad. rm25x3 cashback. read here for any uob promos https://www.uob.com.my/personal/promotions/index.pagehehe, thanks again for the spoonfeeding, much appreciated Any idea when does the cashback pool run out? Was trying to troubleshoot my cashback, didn't receive any on 8 Aug but I did transact in Jul, albeit a bit late coz I was about to cancel but they retained me. Guess I'll have to wait till 8 Sep to see if my current spending qualifies. This post has been edited by RitzyHoke: Sep 4 2022, 08:35 PM

QUOTE(cucikaki @ Sep 4 2022, 10:01 PM) I read some people report they able to get waiver for one card annual fee, is it the same for u too? I have my One card for more than 5 years now and I've never paid annual fees. Signed up via a booth at an LRT station lol, was offered 3 years annual fee waiver. After that I've been trying to cancel it but they keep coming back to me with both annual fee and SST waived lol. Then again One card is not my main card. I also have PRVI miles. Anyone here still using One Card? Been inactive for awhile but was thinking about using it ... but the t&c has changed to min spend 500 (whopping 1.5k for Platinum!!!), before the cashback kicks in.
Am I missing something? This is ... pretty bad?

QUOTE(1mr3tard3d @ May 21 2023, 12:55 AM) i presume u were referring to the previous weekend cash back on petrol, grocery, telecommunication? was using one platinum for the RM 20 cash back on RM 400 petrol at first, didn't find it attractive since the new cap of RM 10/RM 15 would translate to RM 100/RM 150 petrol but then i realised RM 10 / RM 200 would still be 5% cash back, and need not to be weekend also, grab wallet is widely accepted than i thought, including bill payment so applied one classic and going to cancel platinum soon Previously you directly get cashback on petrol with no minimum spend, but now you have to spend 500 before getting any of the 10% cashback, right?

QUOTE(KekTart @ May 23 2023, 04:28 PM) That time CC salesgirl applied PRVI miles card and uob platinum CC together. I said why? She said it’s a must so that the cash back can be credited into PRVI miles. I felt a bit sus but wonder if these 2 cards must be applied together? Or I kena conned lmao cuz I see the cash back got credited into the platinum card. I think I've been holding on to my PRVI miles for more than 5 years already. Every time I try to cancel they waive everything lol.
