Did you pay through Jompay for the cukai tanah for Perak state? What did you put for Ref-1 and Ref-2?

Regarding on this issue, I've contacted Pejabat Tanah dan Galian Perak (05 - 2095000), and they confirmed there is a payment option through JomPAY (26211).
Ref-1 = no of (state, district, mukim, type & hak milik) (numbers below barcodes) (example shown on attached picture, numbers in blue box)
Ref-2 = Phone number (contactable)

Hope this helps.  cool2.gif

Anyone tried topping up TnG wallet, BigPay and Boost in Jan? I tried and looks like I got cashback for all three.

Just to be more sure, anyone else has topped up to boost and got cash back?
*
So, Boost is considered as online transaction under YOLO now? I wonder if it is the same for other banks too. Previously, it was not considered as online when the description was under "CMSB-RPS" and "Celcom-RPS". Anyone tried after the name change to "Boost App"?

uobpayonline discontinuation is definitely one of the worst news for credit card owners.

you can no longer use cards that do not have a proper bank website that include service like jompay to pay bills already without additional charges. cards like BigPay, Aeon cards really RIP.
*
e-pay could be a good alternative.

Does boost top up qualified for YOLO cash back 8%?
I'm trapped on whether to top up boost first and make bill payment from boost OR pay directly my bills thru uob jompay ?

Any kind souls can help?

And 3D secure Vs SSL have any impact?
*
Both are eligible for the cash back. Paying through Boost is better for those billers that are available in Boost.

Anyone else having problem with the updated app? After updating, the app kept crashing when I used it. The icon on phone screen also changed to something that looks like Android. Is there a problem with my phone or the app?

UOB is really terrible. My credit card was cancelled without my knowledge and consent. I was not informed at all about that. I just found about it when I could not use my card in multiple apps and websites. Initially, the card was still visible in my online banking. Later, it was removed completely. Not only do they need not provide reason for it, now they also no need to inform the customer as well? Is this how the bank treats its customers? What a horrible bank! vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

did u call up and asked what happened?
*
I got a reply from the bank through email that my card had indeed been cancelled. There was a letter attached which was dated a few weeks ago. I am not sure if it was prepared as a result of my enquiry and backdated or they did actually prepare it earlier. I did not receive any notification on this in any form whatsoever before this. The address in the letter was also incorrect. I do not know if they are really so incompetent to mess up my address or they did that intentionally so they can claim that they already notified me earlier despite the fact that I did not receive it at all.

I never expected UOB being a foreign bank to be so nasty and irresponsible in their actions. They were not transparent at all with their actions and decisions. vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif So, be careful when dealing with this terrible, horrible bank.

As usual, no specific reason was given. Just telling the bank is exercising its right to close my account according to the T&Cs. But I believe it has something to do with my savings account.

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Feb 5 2021, 01:13 PM)
What is wrong with your saving account then?
*
UOB decided to close all my deposit accounts as I have been doing very frequent fund transfer transactions among my own bank accounts using my UOB savings account. Mine you, they are all my own accounts, no third parties involved. Initially, no reason was provided even when I asked why they wanted to close my accounts. I only found out that was the reason after I emailed them to demand for an explanation and cc to BNM. Only then, did someone call me to ask about the reason for doing so. They apologized and admitted that they should not have issued the order before first checking with me. I asked if the bank does not allow frequent transfer among my own accounts and was told that was not the case. This was not the first time I asked about this, I got the same answer from two different bank officers at different time that it was allowed without any restriction. It is my money after all. They allowed customer to do so, but would close their account later when the bank are not happy with it? And not admit it? ranting.gif ranting.gif ranting.gif

I was asked if I would continue to do frequent transfer if I am allowed to continue operating my account. I told them that I would not continue doing so if the bank is not happy with my actions. In fact, I had already stopped doing that. They could have advised me not to do so if it was inappropriate. I would have agreed. Without any warning beforehand, they decided to close all my deposit accounts with them instead. mad.gif mad.gif

I was told they would feedback to HQ for consideration and ask to wait for update. Finally, on the day the account was supposed to be closed, I was informed that the final decision was to proceed with account closure as originally planned. No mention about my credit card at all this while. I only found that my credit card was cancelled as well after contacting them again after not being able to use the card for any purchase. UOB is so nasty, they closed all my accounts with them even those not related to that particular savings account involved. I was not even informed about it. I guess I had probably been blacklisted by the bank. It is so unfair and they were not transparent at all in their dealings with me. Their Treat Customer Fairly Charter was written so nicely but they don't practice what they preached. It is all for show only perhaps to comply with BNM's requirement. Their actual T&C's are still biased in their favour and the way they implement it is even worse. vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

i guess it must have been very very very frequent for u to keep transferring money to have ur acx flagged. my guess is that it is flagged as very suspicious as although from ur own account, the source of the money to the originating bank may have raised some flag.
*
QUOTE(avinlim @ Feb 5 2021, 07:50 PM)
Define your frequent? 50~100 times daily? monthly? if yes, that definitely will be flagged.

Yes, bank do allow own name / other banks same name transfer. I do that every month for paying bills, withdrawal, around 5 to 10 times every month, sometimes 20-30 if got games or campaign. Never encounter any problem at all.
*
The max I did was 10 times daily. I split the transaction every time I needed to perform large amount transfer to many smaller ones because stupid UOB wants to charge me for transfer exceeding RM 5,000 while many other banks are kind enough to waive it. If other banks don't understand that, it is understandable because they don't charge any fee for that. UOB should know better. I also do a lot of debit card transactions on the same day, often times back to back. I have no issue with my account getting flagged. Does it look suspicious on the surface? Maybe. But if they had bothered to check properly, they would find that there is nothing illegal or unlawful happening. They should have checked with me first if they needed clarification. I did not refuse to cooperate with them. I did not ask them to mind their own business as those are my own money. Maybe I should have because it did not seem to make any difference. Save myself some time and the hassle. mad.gif mad.gif

i remember someone here did 100x within few days for some Maybank campaign. then have to reset at branch. so i guess is much more than that. and only he himself know why need to transfer own money so frequently lor.
*
I am one of those who did that at Maybank. I did not need to go to branch to reset. It resets itself after a while. Maybank did not kacau me at all. As for why I did it so frequently at UOB, I did it to get extra / higher interest and also to participate in bank promotions. If any of you have a UOB savings account, try and check the interest calculation. Then you will know it is not calculated exactly like how other banks do it. You might be surprised that your assumptions about how interest is calculated is incorrect. Things get more complicated when MAB and IAB are involved. I kinda figured out how it was calculated and tried to maximize it to my benefit.

QUOTE(Cookie101 @ Feb 6 2021, 11:46 AM)
The amount is pretty understandable for high net worth customers but repetitive same transaction using smaller amounts constitute a type of layering of funds under AMLTFA.

Overseas bank incorporated locally facing more stringent regulatory watch that’s why they rather lose a customer than losing their licensing.

Many tried to game the system due to their different cut off timing and trying to use the same amount of cash to triple the benefits across 3 banks. That’s the risk they willing to take for that lol

Penny wise pound foolish.
*
If the money was transferred to a third party's account or to my own account overseas, then the risk would be high as there is a change of beneficial ownership or the money leaves the Malaysian financial system. The layering that you mentioned is to obscure and avoid detection for money laundering purposes. How would splitting the amount into smaller amounts on the same day and transferring to the same account achieve that purpose? It is my own account some more. It is so obvious that actual money launderer would not do that.

sorted already according to him. bnm and bank won.
*
Since when did I mention that the issue was already sorted? I did not make any official complaint to BNM. In case you are not aware, BNM does not respond to email that is CCed to them.

QUOTE(alandhw @ Feb 9 2021, 01:16 PM)
Interested to know the calculation an the mechanism to optimize.
Could share?
*
Their cut-off time for interest calculation is around 10:15pm every day. Exact time I am not sure as this information is not publicly disclosed. Saturday and Malaysia public holidays are regarded as non-processing days. So if you deposit or withdraw money on that day, it would not affect the interest calculation on that day. They are using the previous day's balance instead.

DISCLAIMER: Try at your own risk. I would not be liable to any losses you may incur as a result of my sharing. Do not blame me if UOB flag your activity as suspicious and close all your accounts with them as a result.
